CAMERON DIAZ RETIREMENT…

Diaz hasn’t been seen in a movie since 2014’s Annie, and she is not mad about it. The way I look at it is that I’ve given more than half of my life to the public. I feel it’s OK for me to take time for myself now to re-organize and see how I want to come [back] into the world. Cuba es ya el socio comercial número 56 en el mundo para alimentos y productos agrícolas de EEUU. Cuba importó 414,510 dólares en calzado procedente de Perú durante el primer bimestre de 2022.

PRODUCTOS como rositas de maíz, obleas de comunión, granos de café, atún, champú, leche y aves de corral están entre las adquisiciones del Gobierno de Cuba en EEUU, cuyas exportaciones de alimentos a la Isla volvieron a crecer en febrero.

De acuerdo con el informe de Washington sobre sus ventas de alimentos y productos agrícolas del segundo mes de 2022, estas se incrementaron en un 40,3% en febrero, lo que supone un aumento del 28,1% interanual.

El Consejo Económico y Comercial EEUU-Cuba indicó que, con tales cifras, Cuba es ya el socio comercial número 56 del mundo para esa clase de productos de EEUU. En febrero La Habana gastó 29.812.459 dólares, frente a los 21.242.760 de igual mes de 2021 y los 14.809.161 de 2020.

Las exportaciones incluyeron los cuartos de pierna de pollo congelados, el producto que más adquiere el Gobierno cubano en su vecino del norte, de conjunto con la carne de pollo congelada y las patas de pollo congeladas.

En ese mismo mes, las toneladas mensuales de carne de pollo exportadas por Estados Unidos a Cuba alcanzaron el tercer mayor registro histórico de las últimas dos décadas (31.212 toneladas), solamente superadas por los “picos” registrados en julio de 2019 y en marzo de 2021.

A ello debe sumársele soja, carne de pollo en conserva, frijoles, granos de café verde y tostados, lentejas, leche en polvo, leche condensada, palomitas de maíz, atún, obleas de comunión, champú, jabón y dentífricos.

A pesar de que el Gobierno oculta estas cifras mientras sostiene ininterrumpidamente su discurso acerca del embargo de EEUU como la principal causa de la escasez de alimentos que sufren los cubanos, la Oficina de Control de Activos Extranjeros (OFAC, por sus siglas en inglés) del Departamento del Tesoro de los Estados Unidos y la Oficina de Industria y Seguridad (BIS) ) del Departamento de Comercio permiten esas y otras exportaciones a la Isla.

Esos productos están autorizados, pese al embargo, en virtud de la Ley de Reforma de Sanciones Comerciales y Mejora de Exportaciones (TSREEA, por sus siglas en inglés) de 2000, aprobadas por la Administración de George W. Bush.

También están regulados por la Ley de Democracia Cubana (CDA) de 1992 y regulaciones implementadas desde ese año hasta el presente para otros productos. La TSREEA autorizó la exportación comercial directa, con el pago del importe en efectivo, de productos alimenticios, incluidos los de marca, así como de productos agrícolas producidos en los Estados Unidos, con independencia del propósito.

CUBA IMPORTA CALZADO DE PERU..

En otra noticia se informo que Cuba importó 414,510 dólares en calzado procedente de Perú durante el primer bimestre de 2022.

Según los datos ofrecidos por la Gerencia de Manufacturas de la Asociación de Exportadores (ADEX) del país suramericano, Cuba se ubicó entre los tres países mayores importadores de calzado peruano, señaló un reporte de PortalPortuario.

Las cifras indican que Estados Unidos importó 913,944 dólares, con lo que incrementó sus pedidos en 155,5%, concentrando el 36% del total. Le siguió Chile con importaciones que equivalen a 647,040 dólares, un aumento de 26,5%; y en tercer lugar, Cuba con más de 414 mil dólares importados, lo cual representó una descomunal subida de 925,5%.

Las importaciones de la isla superaron incluso las de países como Ecuador, Bolivia, Canadá, Bélgica, Países Bajos, Alemania y México, añade la nota.

Cuba is already the 56th trading partner in the world for US food and agricultural products. Cuba imported 414,510 dollars in footwear from Peru during the first two months of 2022.

PRODUCTS such as popcorn, communion wafers, coffee beans, tuna, shampoo, milk, and poultry are among the acquisitions of the Cuban Government in the US, whose food exports to the Island grew again in February.

According to the Washington Report on its sales of food and agricultural products for the second month of 2022, these increased by 40.3% in February, which represents an increase of 28.1% year-on-year.

The US-Cuba Economic and Commercial Council indicated that, with such figures, Cuba is already the 56th trading partner in the world for this class of US products. In February, Havana spent 29,812,459 dollars, compared to 21,242,760 in the same month of 2021 and 14,809,161 in 2020.

Exports included frozen chicken leg quarters, the product that the Cuban government buys the most from its northern neighbor, together with frozen chicken meat and frozen chicken legs.

In that same month, the monthly tons of chicken meat exported by the United States to Cuba reached the third-highest historical record of the last two decades (31,212 tons), only surpassed by the “peaks” registered in July 2019 and in March 2021.

To this must be added soybeans, canned chicken meat, beans, green and roasted coffee beans, lentils, powdered milk, condensed milk, popcorn, tuna, communion wafers, shampoo, soap, and toothpaste.

Despite the fact that the Government hides these figures while uninterruptedly maintaining its discourse about the US embargo as the main cause of the food shortages suffered by Cubans, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of The United States Department of the Treasury and the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) of the Department of Commerce allows these and other exports to the Island.

These products are authorized, despite the embargo, under the Trade Sanctions Reform and Export Enhancement Act (TSREEA) of 2000, approved by the George W. Bush Administration.

They are also regulated by the Cuban Democracy Act (CDA) of 1992 and regulations implemented from that year to the present for other products. The TSREEA authorized the direct commercial export, for cash payment, of food products, including branded foods, as well as agricultural products produced in the United States, regardless of purpose.

CUBA IMPORTS FOOTWEAR FROM PERU…

In other news, it was reported that Cuba imported 414,510 dollars in footwear from Peru during the first two months of 2022.
