Se podrá enviar dinero desde cualquier punto de venta de EEUU, la web o la aplicación móvil de Western Union a parientes cercanos con cuentas bancarias y tarjetas de débito.
LA EMPRESA WESTERN UNION, en coordinación con la entidad cubana Orbit SA, anunció la reanudación de su servicio de Estados Unidos a Cuba con efecto inmediato.
La compañía suspendió en enero sus servicios a la Isla por problemas técnicos con los bancos cubanos y con Orbit, entidad financiera no bancaria que procesa las remesas.
Wester Union emitió una nota de prensa en la que explica que a partir de ahora sus clientes pueden enviar dinero desde cualquier punto de venta de Estados Unidos, la página web o la aplicación móvil de Western, a familiares cercanos con cuentas bancarias y tarjetas de débito en estos bancos: Banco Popular de Ahorro, Banco Metropolitano S.A. y Banco de Crédito y Comercio (Bandec).
“Entendemos que nuestro servicio es una conexión crucial entre aquellos que viven en los EE.UU. y su familia que vive en Cuba”, dijo Rodrigo García Estebarena, Presidente de Western Union para América del Norte y América Latina.
“Nos complace reanudar el servicio a este corredor vital y proporcionar servicios esenciales de transferencia de dinero a quienes viven en la isla”, agregó.
LA EMPRESA DETALLÓ LAS CARACTERISTICAS DE ESTE SERVICIO:
-Los fondos pueden ser recibidos en cuentas bancarias y tarjetas de débito solamente. El servicio se limita únicamente a transferencias de dinero de consumidores.
-Los clientes de Estados Unidos pueden enviar hasta 2,000 USD por transacción presentando un documento de identidad válido emitido por el gobierno.
-El dinero estará disponible para su recepción el mismo día, incluidos fines de semana y festivos.
-El servicio está disponible para receptores con carnet de identidad y cuentas bancarias y/o tarjetas de débito en los siguientes bancos de Cuba: Banco Popular de Ahorro, Banco Metropolitano S.A. y Banco de Crédito y Comercio (Bandec).
-Los depósitos en cuentas en divisas libremente convertibles (MLC) sólo están disponibles en dólares estadounidenses.

“We are pleased to resume service to this vital corridor and provide essential money transfer services to those living on the island,” he added.
THE COMPANY DETAILED THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THIS SERVICE:
-Funds can be received in bank accounts and debit cards only. The service is limited to consumer money transfers only.
-Customers in the United States can send up to $2,000 per transaction with a valid government-issued ID.
-The money will be available for receipt on the same day, including weekends and holidays.
-The service is available for recipients with an identification card and bank accounts and/or debit cards in the following banks in Cuba: Banco Popular de Ahorro, Banco Metropolitano S.A. and Bank of Credit and Commerce (Bandec).
-Deposits into freely convertible currency (MLC) accounts are only available in US dollars.
