Spanish Hotelsa Enterprise, company dedicated to the manufacture and marketing of food and beverage products for the hospitality industry, will build a factory on a plot of 5,000 square meters located in the so-called Special Zone Development Mariel.
It is the first foreign company to reach an agreement to build the main project conceived by the Cuban government to attract foreign investment, 45 kilometers from Havana. Hotelsa begin lifting its factory in June and in the first phase, it will invest six million euros in the new factory. It will employ about 50 workers, all Cubans, reports on its website.
It will develop food products and establish contracts with Cuban companies for the purchase of local raw materials such as pulp, fruit concentrates, coffee, sugar, molasses, flour or alcohol, among others.
For 20 years, the Spanish company sells its products on the island. CUBA: PRIMER CONTRATO EN LA ZONA DEL MARIEL.
La empresa española Hotelsa, dedicada a la fabricación y comercialización de productos alimentarios y bebidas para la hostelería, construirá una fábrica en una parcela de 5.000 metros cuadrados situada en la llamada Zona Especial de Desarrollo del Mariel.
Se trata de la primera empresa extranjera que llega a un acuerdo para construir en el principal proyecto concebido por el Gobierno cubano para atraer inversión extranjera, a 45 kilómetros de La Habana. Hotelsa comenzará levantar su fábrica en junio y, en una primera fase, invertirá seis millones de euros en la nueva fábrica. Empleará a unos 50 trabajadores, todos cubanos, según informa en su página web.
Elaborará productos alimenticios y establecerá contratos con empresas cubanas para la compra de materias primas locales como pulpas, concentrados de frutas, café, azúcares, melazas, harinas o alcohol, entre otros.
Desde hace 20 años, la empresa española comercializa sus productos en la isla. En esta nueva etapa esperan que la gran mayoría de los productos fabricados en Mariel se comercialicen en máquinas dispensadoras que se instalarán en hoteles y otros establecimientos turísticos. Gonzalo Julio Gonzalez Fonseca better known as Gonzalo Rubalcaba was born May 27, 1963 in a post-revolutionary Havana and into a musical family rich in the traditions of the country’s artistic past. He is an important artist and Grammy Award-winning Cuban jazz pianist and composer.
During his childhood, in addition to the standard fare of elementary schools, Gonzalo absorbed the Cuban musical heritage of his nascent environment through personal contacts within his family, notably his father, pianist Guillermo Rubalcaba and his two brothers (pianist and bassist) as well as from leading musicians who were frequent houseguests: Frank Emilio, Peruchin, Felipe Dulzaides and others.
He also assimilated, through scarce and treasured recordings, the tunes and styles of 40′s – 70′s US jazz masters: Thelonius Monk,Bud Powell, Oscar Peterson among pianists; and instrumentalists Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie and Art Blakey. Gonzalo loved drumming and early in his career studied both piano and drums. Despite the diversity of his background, Gonzalo’s initial formal musical training was entirely classical Gonzalo
He began his training at Manuel Saumell Conservatory at age 9, where he finally chose the piano as his main instrument. He moved up to middle-school at Amadeo Roldan Conservatory and finally earned his degree in music composition from Havana’s Institute of Fine Arts in 1983. By that time he was already playing in clubs and music halls in Havana. He toured France and Africa with Orquesta Aragon in 1980 and introduced his own Grupo Projecto to the North Sea and Berlin Festivals in 1985.
In 2002 he performed as Artist-in-Residence at the Montreal Jazz Festival together with Chucho Valdez. Gonzalo has performed with the likes of Dizzy Gillespie, Ignacio Berroa, Chick Corea, Al DiMeola, Herbie Hancock,Charlie Haden, Katia Labeque, Richard Galliano, Francisco Cespedes, Tony Martinez, Issac Delgado, Juan Luis Guerra, Dave Holland, Chris Potter, Eric Harland, Dennis Chambers, Brian Bromberg, Ron Carter, Yosvany Terry,Matt Brewer, Mike Rodriguez, Marcus Gilmore, Pat Martino, Giovanni Hidalgo,John Patitucci, Jack DeJohnette, Joao Bosco, Eric Harland , Ivan Linz and many others.
His art continues to evolve and draw inspiration from both his Afro-Cuban heritage and the world around us. Our Maestro will continue shaping and reshaping the themes, forms and rhythms which have provided him with inspiration for his life’s work. In whichever idiom he works, his future musical creations will be melodious, rhythmic, exciting and bear in their intriguing intricacies the artist’s inherent intention of transforming the daily routines of our lives into something more beautiful and significant.
Gonzalo now produces and records for his own record label and production company, 5Passion LLC, founded in 2010.
The first offering is entitled ‘Fé” (Faith), a solo piano offering that is an exquisite foray into the depths of color and emotion that reward the listener with every spin. In 2011, Gonzalo released “XXI Centrury” , a double CD featuring music from various periods and genres, and features the likes of Ignacio Berroa, Matt Brewer, Marcus Gilmore, Lionel Leouke , Pedro Martinez and Gonzalo Rubalcaba.
Gonzalo is currently working on his next offering, to be released in 2015. In addition, his 5Passion label plans to release several discs from Yosvany Terry, Ignacio Berroa, Jose Armando Gola and Alex Sipiagin, all of whom are considered some of the best musicians on the planet.

Gonzalo Julio González Fonseca mejor conocido como Gonzalo Rubalcaba nació 27 de mayo 1963 en La Habana post-revolucionaria y en una familia musical rica en las tradiciones del pasado artístico del país. Él es un artista importante y ganador del premio Grammy el pianista de jazz y compositor cubano.
Durante su infancia, además de la tarifa estándar de las escuelas primarias, Gonzalo absorbe el patrimonio musical cubano de su entorno naciente a través de contactos personales dentro de su familia, especialmente a su padre, el pianista Guillermo Rubalcaba y sus dos hermanos (pianista y bajista), así como de los principales músicos que estaban tener invitados frecuentes: Frank Emilio, Peruchín, Felipe Dulzaides y otros.

Vida Guerra (born March 19, 1974) is a Cuban-born American glamour model. Her first notable appearance was in the U.S. edition of FHM magazine in December 2002; since then, she has modeled for many other men’s magazines.
Born in Havana, Cuba, Guerra moved to the United States soon after, ending up in the town of Perth Amboy, New Jersey. While growing up, she entered several fashion shows modeling swim wear, and has appeared in music videos.
Career.
Guerra’s first national exposure came when she appeared in a lingerie spread for FHM in December 2002. The magazine later reported that following its publication, almost one third of their mail was from readers demanding more photos of her. She was called back for more photo shoots and became “FHM’s Model of the Year” in 2004. Since then, she has been featured in many magazines, including DUB, Smooth, Escape, and Open Your Eyes, often as the cover girl.
Guerra has made multiple appearances on several Spanish language television programs such as entertainment gossip show El Gordo y la Flaca (The Fat guy and The Skinny girl). She has also become a staple in music videos, appearing in “Shake Ya Tailfeather” (Nelly, P. Diddy and Murphy Lee, from the Bad Boys II soundtrack, 2003) and “The New Workout Plan” (Kanye West, 2004), in “Obsession (No Es Amor)” (Frankie J featuring Baby Bash, 2005) among others.
In addition, Guerra has appeared in a commercial for Burger King’s TenderCrisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch, a couple of sketches on Chappelle’s Show (including “R. Kelly’s ‘(I Wanna) Piss on You’ Music Video”, which spoofed the R. Kelly sex tape), and the film National Lampoon’s Dorm Daze 2. She lent her voice to the video game Scarface: The World Is Yours.
In April 2005, Guerra’s camera phone was allegedly hacked. Dozens of photos, including nude pictures, were widely disseminated on the Internet. Guerra said the nude images were of another woman, and that they had been mixed with genuine, non-nude camera-phone images of her to create the false appearance that she was the naked woman pictured. However, the head of her record label maintained that the nude photos were of Guerra and that she had deliberately leaked them as a publicity stunt. Guerra was dropped by the label over this incident.
Guerra was voted Number 26 in “F.H.M’s Top 100 Sexiest Females” of 2005 and has twice been named the winner of the magazine’s “Best Butt Award”. She has produced her own swimsuit calendars (and accompanying “behind the scenes” DVDs) and a 2006 DVD titled Vida Guerra: Exposed.
The July 2006 issue of Playboy featured the first formal nude photos of Guerra. Part of her motivation for posing for the magazine, she said, was the camera phone incident; she wanted people to see what she really looked like naked.
The first song from Guerra’s debut album, You Got Me, was leaked to the Internet on November 2, 2006.
In a July 2008 interview on The Jace Hall Show, she spoke about her show Livin’ the Low Life, stating that “I didn’t like it [low rider cars] at first, I mean, they were cool, but now that I did the first season I’m actually gonna get one.”
Personal life.
Guerra is a vegetarian. Regarding vegetarianism, she has stated “I feel really healthy, and it works on so many different levels, including the condition of my skin”.
