Rusia entregó hoy a la oficina del PNUD en La Habana un millón de dólares para la implementación del proyecto Apoyo a la recuperación de la ciudad de Santiago de Cuba después del impacto del huracán Sandy.
El embajador de esa nación europea, Mikhail L. Kamynin, calificó de digno este plan que busca unir esfuerzos para ayudar a la población esa región oriental de Cuba que sufrió el azote de ese fenómeno atmosférico en el 2012.
Refirió que esta colaboración reafirma las relaciones fraternales entre ambos países y las amplía aún más luego de la reciente visita a la isla del presidente ruso, Vladimir Putin.
Kamynin firmó este miércoles un memorando para la implementación de ese programa junto a la representante residente del Oficina Coordinadora del Programa para el Desarrollo de Naciones Unidas en Cuba, Myrta Kaulard.
La directiva, por su parte, agradeció esta contribución, la cual consideró muy útil para apoyar a la población a reconstruir sus viviendas y el patrimonio, al tiempo señaló que este gesto subraya los ya muy buenos vínculos entre Cuba y Rusia.

RUSSIA HELPS IN THE SANTIAGO DE CUBA RECOVERY.
Russia delivered today to the UNDP office in Havana a million dollars for project implementation support to the recovery of the city of Santiago de Cuba after the impact of Hurricane Sandy.
Ambassador of the European nation, Mikhail L. Kamynin, described this plan worth looking to join forces to help people that eastern Cuba suffered the scourge of this atmospheric phenomenon in 2012.
He said that this collaboration reinforces the fraternal relations between the two countries and further expands after the recent visit to the island of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Kamynin Wednesday signed a memorandum for the implementation of this program by the Resident Representative Office Program Coordinator for the UN Development in Cuba, Myrta Kaulard.
The board, meanwhile, welcomed this contribution, which he found very useful to support people rebuild their homes and heritage, while noted that this gesture underlines the already good ties between Cuba and Russia.
