Detenciones temporales, golpizas y asaltos a viviendas de opositores marcaron el Día Internacional de los Derechos Humanos en Cuba, informaron miembros de la disidencia interna.
Más de 130 Damas de Blanco fueron detenidas, unas 80 de ellas en La Habana, donde el grupo intentó reunirse en la céntrica heladería Coppelia para luego realizar una caminata.
Las mujeres fueron recibidas por agentes de Seguridad del Estado y la Policía, además de una turba de unas 200 personas que les gritó “Mueran las Damas de Blanco”, “Abajo las gusanas”, “mercenarias”, “ratas inmundas” y otros de los habituales calificativos que utiliza contra ellas el régimen.
Entre las arrestadas estuvo Berta Soler, líder del grupo, liberada horas después.
Uno de los actos más violentos del día se registró en Puerto Padre, Las Tunas, donde la vivienda del activista Roger Curbelo, en la una decena de activistas del Movimiento Cristiano Liberación (MCL) conmemoraba el aniversario 65 de la Declaración Universal de Derechos Humanos, fue asaltada por fuerzas del régimen, informó la Agencia Católica de Información (ACI).
“Hay miles de policías. Le están dando piñazos a todos los de la casa. Están acabando con todo. Están dentro de la casa, rompieron la puerta, persianas, todo (…) A todo el mundo que está dentro de la casa lo están golpeando (…) son policías y civiles”, dijo una testigo en un audio difundido por el MCL.
La organización reportó el uso de gases lacrimógeno contra los reunidos en la casa y dijo que había “varios heridos sangrando (…) y varios detenidos”.
Los arrestos de disidentes y Damas de Blanco se repitieron en casi todo el país. En Santiago de Cuba, el secretario ejecutivo de la Unión Patriótica de Cuba (UNPACU) informó que unas veinte mujeres fueron detenidas y otras 30 estuvieron sitiadas en la vivienda de Solange de la Caridad Claramunt.
Cerveza y represión
Según Ferrer, una veintena de activistas de la UNPACU realizó una marcha por calles de Palmarito de Cauto. Y, en Contramaestre, un grupo de disidentes se reunió en una vivienda para conmemorar la fecha. En ambos casos, las autoridades respondieron enviando al lugar ventas de cerveza y ron.
Este tipo de acciones podría llevar “a una mayor violencia posterior porque luego emplean a personas en estado ebrio para tirar piedras y agredir a los activistas de la UNPACU”, alertó la organización.
Ferrer dijo que otras localidades, como Palma Soriano, los opositores pintaron aceras y paredes con consignas a favor de los Derechos Humanos.
La UNPACU reportó acciones y detenciones de sus activistas en Holguín, Guantánamo y Granma, Pinar del Río, Matanzas y Villa Clara.
En el Día Internacional de los Derechos Humanos “el régimen responde con la represión, con barriles de cerveza y ron frente a los activistas, gastando numerosos recursos (…) combustible y medios en un país en el que la precariedad es absoluta para los bienes más básicos”, dijo Ferrer.
“En vez de estar todos abogando por el respeto de los derechos humanos, una parte de la sociedad civil está conmemorando la fecha y otra [el régimen] tratando de impedir toda conmemoración y violando flagrantemente todos los derechos de las personas”, añadió.
En la capital, Estado de Sats realizó la jornada inicial de su Primer Encuentro Internacional sobre Derechos Humanos y Pactos de la ONU en medio de un operativo policial que cortó el tráfico en cinco manzanas alrededor de la vivienda del director del proyecto independiente, Antonio Rodiles.
Los agentes del régimen detuvieron a la mayoría de los ciudadanos que intentaron asistir al evento. No obstante, unas 30 personas lograron reunirse dentro de la casa, según dijo a DIARIO DE CUBA Ailer González, directora artística de Estado de Sats.
A unos metros de la vivienda, el Gobierno montó actividades festivas y juegos para los que utilizó a decenas de escolares, mientras sonaba en un altavoz música castrista.
Rodiles lamentó que el Gobierno entienda el Día de los Derechos Humanos como una jornada de “confrontación” y calificó de “realmente bajo” usar a los niños “para estas cosas”, reportó EFE.
El Encuentro Internacional sobre Derechos Humanos y Pactos de la ONU continúa este martes.

Entre los detenidos por intentar asistir estuvieron los jóvenes argentinos Pedro Robledo y Valentina Aragona, miembros de Propuesta Republicana (PRO), que lidera el político y empresario Mauricio Macri. Ambos fueron deportados.
Además del despliegue represivo, el régimen organizó por el Día de los Derechos Humanos un panel de expertos oficialistas sobre institucionalidad democrática y derechos civiles, entre otros temas.
El foro defendió el sistema del partido único en la Isla como “expresión del sentimiento de unidad” que, según el Gobierno, tienen los cubanos. Los participantes negaron que esto signifique “unanimidad de criterio”.
“Es una unidad democrática y dialéctica en la que se fundamenta la organización del Estado cubano”, dijo el presidente de la Comisión de Asuntos Constitucionales y Jurídicos de la Asamblea Nacional, José Luis Toledo Santander.
Santander negó que se impida la libertad de asociación en la Isla. Afirmó que el país tiene una ley al respecto, conforme a lo establecido en la Constitución y que hay “decenas de asociaciones debidamente registradas”.
La Constitución cubana establece en su artículo 62 que ninguna de las libertades reconocidas a los ciudadanos puede ser ejercida contra la existencia y fines del Estado socialista “ni contra la decisión del pueblo cubano de construir el socialismo y el comunismo”.
El Día Internacional de los Derechos Humanos y la oleada represiva del régimen para intentar impedir las actividades de los disidentes coincidió con un hecho inusual, el apretón de manos entre el presidente estadounidense Barack Obama y el general Raúl Castro, forzado por el protocolo del funeral de Nelson Mandela en Soweto.
“Ojalá que Raúl Castro diese también algún síntoma de que quiere comportarse civilizadamente con los demócratas cubanos y dialogar con ellos. Nos gustaría que abogase como Mandela por el respeto a los derechos humanos”, dijo José Daniel Ferrer, según citó EFE.
Ese saludo debería ser lo normal entre dos países vecinos, pero “lo que quisiera es que existiera en Cuba un presidente democrático que se pueda dar la mano con todos los presidentes del mundo, pero principalmente con todos los cubanos”, afirmó por su parte Rodiles.
