GOBIERNO DE CUBA DENUNCIA LO QUE CALIFICO DE “ESCANDALOSA CENSURA” DE GOOGLE
El gobierno de Cuba denunció como una “escandalosa censura” el cierre aplicado por Google al acceso a su servicio de estadísticas Google Analytics desde la isla, relacionado con las leyes de embargo aplicadas por Estados Unidos sobre la isla.
“Escandalosa censura de Google a Cuba: Medios y blogueros de la isla no pueden acceder a estadísticas” del servicio Google Analytics”, señaló el portal oficialista Cubadebate. “Amaneció hoy (martes) bloqueado para los usuarios”, añadió.
Según el sitio oficial, al tratar de acceder al servicio desde un computador situado en la isla aparece un mensaje que remite a la página del Departamento del Tesoro de EE.UU., que vigila el cumplimiento de las sanciones ligadas al embargo.
La medida afectará tanto a los sitos web del gobierno comunista como a los blogueros oficialistas y de oposición. Entre estos últimos se cuenta la laureada Yoani Sánchez.
Google: “Cumplimos con controles”
Google reconoció, en un mensaje enviado a la agencia AFP, que había aplicado la medida en el marco de las normas sobre el embargo.
“Como toda empresa estadounidense, cumplimos con los controles de exportaciones de EE.UU. y sanciones que nos limitan el suministro de ciertos servicios en ciertos países”, indicó la firma.
“Para cumplir con esas leyes, nuestras reglas de servicio siempre prohibieron la utilización de Google Analytics en países sancionados. Ahora también se instaló una traba técnica”, añadió.
La lista de países donde los productos y servicios de Google son sometidos a sanciones incluyen Cuba, Birmania, Irán, Siria, Sudán, y Corea del Norte.
