Urbas Grupo Financiero SA, formerly Urbas Proyectos Urbanisticos SA, is a company based in Spain that is mainly dedicated to the real estate sector. CUBAGOLF

Según las noticias publicadas, este viaje ha permitido a ‘Urbas’ ultimar los detalles del proyecto ‘Rancho Luna-La Milpa’, un complejo turístico y residencial en la Península de Pasacaballos, al sur de la ciudad de Cienfuegos, en el que invertirá en torno a 3.000 millones de euros con un plan de desarrollo a 25 años, dividido en cinco fases.

Por ello, Acedo se ha reunido con el ministro de Comercio Exterior y la Inversión Extranjera, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, y con el director general de Desarrollo, Negocios e Inversiones del Ministerio de Turismo, Jose R. Daniel Alonso, así como con el director general de ‘CubaGolf’, Rubén Forés Rodríguez, ya que esta visita supone un paso hacia adelante para constituir la empresa mixta con CubaGolf, filial de la compañía pública cubana ‘CubaSol’ y que tendrá una duración de 50 años.

Esta alianza se enmarca en los planes de ‘CubaGolf’, sociedad que se integra dentro del Ministerio de Turismo de la República de Cuba, de convertirse en accionista de compañías que se establezcan en el país para invertir en desarrollos inmobiliarios vinculados al golf y otras actividades turísticas. Acedo Fernandez destacó que el acuerdo con CubaGolf afianza a Urbas como inversor extranjero en Cuba y «pone de manifiesto la apuesta de la compañía por la diversificación de mercados, uno de los pilares fundamentales del plan estratégico en el que está trabajando con horizonte 2024».

NUEVA GENERACIÓN DE COMPLEJOS

“Rancho Luna-La Milpa”, nombre que recibe el proyecto que se dividirá en cinco fases, se extenderá sobre una superficie de más de 1.000 hectáreas, en las que se construirán seis hoteles de lujo y gran lujo, cinco campos de golf, cerca de 3.400 villas y más de 11.000 apartamentos.

Además, en sus planes el proyecto contará con una marina con capacidad para 400 megayates, centros comerciales y de ocio, y un centro ecuestre, entre otras instalaciones. Desde hace algunos años el desarrollo turístico de la región está experimentando un fuerte crecimiento gracias al potencial que ofrecen sus playas, ideales para el buceo y la pesca, así como por su atractivo como ciudad tras haber sido declarada Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad por la Unesco.

El Pru Oriental Preparation

TYPICAL OF EASTERN CUBA, BUT OF HAITIAN ORIGINS

Its origins are attributed to the presence of Haitians and French who settled in the territories of Guantánamo and Santiago de Cuba, after the Revolution in Haiti at the beginning of the 19th century. The French, who also brought their black slaves, found that the prices of land in the east of the island were lower since the booming sugar industry was developing towards the west.

As a result, the eastern valleys were filled with coffee and cotton plantations. These were the main Haitian export products. With the French and their slaves, the Pru also arrived in Cuba. This drink was made from the African plant called liana ubí (Cissus verticillata), also known as liana de agua, Indian and lenero.

According to tradition, the slaves found strength in the Pru to carry out the hard work of the fields, they rejoiced in the spirit and it is said that with its help they cured several of their diseases. Actually, this drink does have some medicinal properties, as it acts as a hypotensive and purifying agent, as well as showing diuretic properties.

PREPARATION OF THE ORIENTAL PRU

The preparation of the refreshing Pru requires that the ubí liana be boiled. Ginger, cinnamon sticks, and brown sugar are added to the cooking. Depending on the taste and availability of the ingredients, it also includes soap, pepper leaves, and Chinese roots.

When the preparation has cooled, adjust the sugar and add brandy. To ferment it, it is placed in airtight containers and buried for three days. After removing it from the ground, it is strained and placed in glass bottles. Some also put some leaves of cane holy in the bottle. It is served very cold.

This traditional recipe has been passed from generation to generation and has spread throughout Cuba, but the preparation is more common in eastern regions. For more than fifteen years, an industrial version has been distributed in Granma, under the “El Rey del Cauto” brand, but nothing exceeds more than two centuries of artisan production.

The Prú is, without a doubt, one of the most identifying elements of the gastronomy of eastern Cuba, to the point that the person who visits the area and does not try the refreshing Prú will feel as frustrated as the one who travels to Paris and don’t visit the Eiffel Tower.

De la conocida famosa internacionalmente coctelería cubana el “Pru Oriental” se destaca por su exótica combinación de los ingredientes propios de la isla. Pero cada región del país tiene sus bebidas que la representan. Algunas son realmente únicas, tal es el caso del refrescante Pru oriental.

Esta es una bebida fermentada, muy típica del oriente de Cuba. Para prepararla, se emplean varias raíces, canela y azúcar “prieta”, como le decimos en la isla al azúcar morena. No solo es muy refrescante, el Pru es reconocida por sus propiedades hipotensoras y algunos hasta le atribuyen efectos afrodisíacos.

TÍPICA DEL ORIENTE DE CUBA, PERO DE ORÍGENES HAITIANOS

Se atribuyen sus orígenes por la presencia de haitianos y franceses que se asentaron en los territorios de Guantánamo y Santiago de Cuba, luego de la Revolución en Haití a comienzos del siglo XIX. Los franceses, que trajeron también a sus esclavos negros, encontraron que los precios de las tierras en el oriente de la Isla eran más bajos, ya que hacia el occidente se desarrollaba la pujante industria azucarera.

La Preparacion del Pru.

Como resultado, los valles orientales se llenaron de plantaciones de café y algodón. Estos eran los principales productos haitianos de exportación. Con los franceses y sus esclavos también llegó a Cuba el Pru. Esta bebida se elaboraba a partir de la planta africana denominada bejuco ubí (Cissus verticillata), también conocida como bejuco de agua, indio y lenero.

Según la tradición, los esclavos encontraban fuerzas en el Pru para realizar las duras labores del campo, les alegraba el espíritu y se dice que con su ayuda curaban varias de sus enfermedades. Realmente, esta esta bebida sí posee algunas propiedades medicinales, pues actúa como hipotensivo y depurativo, así como muestra propiedades diuréticas.

PREPARACIÓN DEL PRU ORIENTAL

La elaboración del refrescante Pru requiere que se hierva el bejuco ubí. Al cocimiento se le añade jengibre, canela en rama y azúcar morena. Según el gusto y la disponibilidad de los ingredientes, también llava jaboncillo, hojas de pimienta y raíz china.

Cuando la preparación ha enfriado, se ajusta el azúcar y se le añade aguardiente. Para fermentarla, se coloca en envases herméticos y se entierra por tres días. Luego de sacarla de la tierra, se cuela y se coloca en botellas de cristal. Algunos colocantambién unas hojas de caña santa en la botella. Se sirve bien fría.

Esta receta tradicional se ha pasado de generación en generación y se ha difundido por toda Cuba, pero las preparación es más común en las regiones orientales. Desde hace más de quince años, se distribuye en Granma una versión industrial, bajo la marca «El Rey del Cauto», per nada supera más de dos siglos de elaboración artesanal.

El Prú es, sin lugar a dudas, uno de los elementos más identificativos de la gastronomía del oriente de Cuba, a tal punto que la persona que visite la zona y no pruebe el refrescante Prú se sentirá tan frustrado como aquel que viaja a París y no visita la Torre Eiffel.

En la actualidad está trabajando en México D.F. donde dirigió el documental ‘La noche se mueve’, para TV UNAM; hizo la dirección escénica de la serie de 58 programas ‘Conjuros’ (ILCE), gerencia de producción de la serie ‘Las enseñanzas de Don Próspero’ (ILCE), la dirección de actores y la producción del corto de ficción ‘Drácula y Julieta’ para la Universidad Iberoamericana de Puebla y la gerencia de producción de una serie de programas educativos de la SEP y en el de serie de TV ‘Línea nocturna’.

En Cuba protagonizó telenovelas, seriales y teleteatros en la televisión y Numerosas obras de teatro cubano y universal, entre las que se Destacan ‘Una paloma, una estrella; ‘Los amaneceres son aquí apacibles’; ‘Otelo’, ‘Los Gemelos’; ‘Contigo pan y cebolla’, ‘La fierecilla domada’ y ‘Las siete patas del Diablo’.

Dentro de su filmografía podemos verla en ‘Guantanamera’ de Tomás Gutiérrez Alea, ‘Alicia en el País de las Maravillas’ de Daniel Díaz Torres; ‘Polvo de Ángel’ de Oscar Blancarte. En “Guantanamera”, que es una sátira sobre la vida en Cuba. Los integrantes de un cortejo fúnebre y algunos camioneros que tienen que tomar el mismo camino comienzan a hablar de dios y del mundo terminando descubriendo que la vida de ambos grupos tiene muchas similitudes así como muchas diferencias según el punto de vista. Idalmis interpreta el personaje de Hilda.

En el año 2008 presenta en México el monólogo ‘Vivir a ciegas’ de su autoría y dirección, y también protagoniza el personaje de la enfermera en el filme ‘Arresto domiciliario’, Dirigido por Gabriel Retes.
