Electo Rosell Horrutiner, better known for Chepín, was the director of the “Orquesta Chepín-Choven”, a Cuban popular music group. This group, originally from Santiago de Cuba, carried out important work during the decades of the 40s and 50s.

AMAURY PÉREZ VIDAL, SINGER, COMPOSER, AND TELEVISION CONDUCTOR

Amaury Pérez Vidal was born in the Vedado neighborhood, Havana, on December 26, 1953, and is a composer, poet, guitarist, and singer. He is a founding member of the Nueva Trova Movement. En 1998 viaja a España para presentar su disco ‘Amor difícil’, en la Sala Manuel de Falla de la Sociedad General de Autores y Editores de España. Comienza el nuevo milenio con energía y se divide entre múltiples presentaciones tanto nacionales como internacionales, principalmente en México. Continúa con la producción de nuevos materiales discográficos, entre los que se destacan Equilibrio donde abarca el género del blues, Solo en septiembre, un disco con múltiples facetas musicales y Algo en común donde incursiona con gran éxito en el género de la salsa.

En el 2003 realiza el disco Trovador, un trabajo creado con Silvio Rodríguez. En el 2004, el disco fue promocionado por varias partes del continente americano y España. El 31 de diciembre del 2003 fue condecorado por Fidel Castro, con la Orden Félix Varela, máximo galardón oficial de la cultura en Cuba. El 7 de octubre del año 2004 muere su madre, Consuelito Vidal, siendo este un terrible golpe en su vida personal.

Participó en el concierto Misa cubana a la Virgen del Cobre, en la Basílica de Santa María de Trastevere, en Roma, Italia, para celebrar el 70 aniversario del establecimiento de relaciones entre Cuba y El Vaticano.

En 2006 se presenta el disco ‘Los dúos’, donde se recopilan todas aquellas canciones que ha interpretado junto con varios de los más importantes interpretes de la canción cubana y latinoamericana.
