Carlos Prio was born in Bahía Honda, Cuba, July 14, 1903 and died in Miami, April 5, 1977, he was President of Cuba from 1948 through his party, the Partido Revolucionario Cubano Authentic until he was deposed by a military coup led by Fulgencio Batista the March 10, 1952, three months before new elections to be held. His rule was characterized by strong ties with the United States.
He was the son of Francisco Prío-Rivas and María de Regla Socarrás-Socarrás.
From 1945-1947 he held the post of Prime Minister. In 1948, he participated in the presidential elections in Cuba by his party, Authentic Cuban Revolutionary Party. Finally is winning with a large majority.
Presidency.
Following his election, was considered important enough to receive the greetings of US President Harry Truman. His presidency was marked by an increase in corruption and violence that existed between the different political factions.
Exile and death.
The government of Carlos Prio ended March 10, 1952 with the military coup of General Batista. Prio moved to the United States with his family without defending his government against coup.
Although he returned to Cuba on January 1, 1959, and thus seems to have been to Havana before Fidel Castro himself. However, Prio broke with Castro after the latter began to consolidate his power and his regime declared Marxist-Leninist government. Prio left the island in 1961 and returned to the United States.
He spent the last years of his life as a designer and businessman in Miami. Carlos Prio committed suicide on April 5, 1977.

Karla Cossío (Spanish pronunciation: [koˈsi.o]; born June 22, 1985 in Cuba) is a Mexican actress.
Born in Havana, Cuba and brought to Mexico when she was only three months old, Karla Cossío began performing very young. She studied acting at the age of 15 in the CEAI (Centro de Educación Artística Infantil) and later in the CEA (Centro de Educación Artística).
She attended elementary school Colegio Ciudad de México, Junior High and the High School in El Colegio Britanico (The Edron Academy).
She is also fluent three languages: Spanish, English and French. Cossío was part of the soap opera Clase 406 with the character of Sandra Paola, a production of Pedro Damián.
In 2004 she acts in the soap opera Rebelde with the character of Pilar. Her brother Frantz Cossío is also an actor.

He was born on June 28, 1939 in Havana, Cuba. Son of Odelia and Cuban writer and director Mario Barral (died in 2000). He started acting at 9 years old at the Cuban radio program “Angels of the Street”, then worked in film and television.
In the late 50s he was part of the television program “The club heartthrobs.” He left his native country in 1962 and settled in Madrid, Spain, then moved to Panama where he met his future wife for life, Melly Guard, whom he married in 1966 and has two daughters, Marietta and Yolanda.
In 1970 he moved to Puerto Rico becoming one of the leading men in television, theater and film. He also worked in telenovelas in Venezuela and Mexico. Besides acting stood out as host of movies on TV alongside fellow actor and sidekick Frank Moro and animator game show “Super Saturday”. In the early 80s he moved to Miami, Florida, United States, working as an animator on various radio and television programs as “El show de Rolando Barral” and “Sabado Gigante” with Don Francisco and others.
On January 16, 2002, he fainted at the end of his TV show “Party of five to seven” by TVC channel cable. He suffered a stroke. On 18 January he was brain surgery to stop bleeding. He died on January 22, 2002 at Kendall Medical Center in Miami, Florida, United States, at 62 years of age. He was buried in Graceland Park Cemetery in Miami.

Nació el 28 de junio de 1939 en La Habana, Cuba. Hijo de Odelia y escritor y director cubano Mario Barral (murió en 2000). Él comenzó a actuar a los 9 años de edad en el programa de radio cubana “Ángeles de la calle”, luego trabajó en cine y televisión.
A finales de los años 50 formó parte del programa de televisión “El rompecorazones club.” Salió de su país natal en 1962 y se instaló en Madrid, España, luego se trasladó a Panamá donde conoció a su futura esposa para toda la vida, Melly Guardia, con quien se casó en 1966 y tiene dos hijas, Marietta y Yolanda.
En 1970 se trasladó a Puerto Rico convirtiéndose en uno de los principales hombres en la televisión, el teatro y el cine. También trabajó en las telenovelas en Venezuela y México. Además de actuar se destacó como gran cantidad de películas en la televisión junto a su compatriota y compañero de Frank actor de Moro y animador concurso “Súper Sábado”. A principios de los años 80 se trasladó a Miami, Florida, Estados Unidos, trabajando como animador en varios programas de radio y televisión como “El show de Rolando Barral” y “Sábado Gigante” con Don Francisco y otros.
El 16 de enero de 2002, se desmayó al final de su programa de televisión “Fiesta del cinco al siete” por el cable del canal de TVC. Sufrió un derrame cerebral. El 18 de enero fue una cirugía cerebral para detener el sangrado. Murió el 22 de enero de 2002 en Kendall Medical Center en Miami, Florida, Estados Unidos, a los 62 años de edad. Fue enterrado en Graceland Park Cemetery en Miami.
