THE CUBAN HISTORY, HOLLYWOOD.
Idalmis del Risco nació un 14 de Julio de 1965 en Camaguey, Cuba y es una productora, directora y actriz del Cine, Television y Radio Cubana. Desde niña supo que quería ser actriz. Su padre le inculcó esa vocación. Actuó en varias obras en el Conjunto Dramático de Camagüey al que pertenecía su padre.
Teniendo 8 años sustituyó a un actor e interpretó a Washington Meyer, fue un gran reto, pues siendo tan joven tuvo que caracterizarse y en tiempo record prepararse para un personaje protagónico, en “Los Días de la Comuna”, obra de Bertold Brecht, dirigida por el director alemán Hans Fissher. Ese fue el gran debut en el Teatro Mella, con actores cubanos talentosos como Enrique Almirante, René de la Cruz, Mario Balmaseda, Raquel Revuelta, Elvira Cervera, Isaura Mendoza, Luis Alberto García (padre), Mercedes Arnaiz, Tito Junco, Raúl Pomares, Samuel Claxton, entre otros.
Perteneció al grupo de aficionados infantil “Como lo Soñó Martí” dirigido por Luciano Castillo, donde obtuvieron premio con la obra “Había una vez un pueblo” en el III Festival Nacional de la FEEM en el Teatro Sauto. Como no cumplía los requisitos de edad para incorporarse a la Escuela Nacional de Arte en la especialidad de actuación, sus padres la alentaron a estudiar Artes Plásticas. Siempre se interesó por la lectura y participó en un taller de guión infantil donde escribe el cuento “Mi pedacito de luna”. Practicó gimnasia lo que contribuyó a consolidar su preparación física que junto a su preparación intelectual la ayudaron en el desempeño futuro de sus aspiraciones.
Estudios realizados
Graduada como actriz en la Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA) y en el Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) en la especialidad de Dirección de la Licenciatura en los Medios de Comunicación Audiovisual. Cursó, además, estudios de ballet, gimnasia y artes plásticas.
Siendo muy joven compartió escenario en las temporadas humorísticas del gran Teatro Karl Marx, con los más renombrados humoristas cubanos como Enrique Arredondo, Idalberto Delgado, Enrique Santiesteban, Erwin Fernández, María de los Angeles Santana, Rosita Fornés, Julito Martínez, Mario Aguirre, Carlos Ruíz de la Tejera, Litico Rodríguez, Assehnen Rodríguez.
Ha protagonizado telenovelas, seriales, revistas, comedias musicales y teleteatros en la televisión cubana y numerosas obras de teatro cubano y universal, junto a excelentes directores como: Roberto Garriga, Carlos Piñeiro, Jesús Cabrera, Lázaro Buría, Mirtha González Pereda, Lolina Cuadra, Maritza Rodríguez, Miguel Sanabria, Silvano Suárez, entre otro. Destacan las actuaciones en: Una paloma, una estrella, dirigida por Flora Lawten y Los amaneceres son aquí apacibles, bajo la dirección de María Elena Espinosa así como Otelo, Los Gemelos;Contigo pan y cebolla, La fierecilla domada y Las siete patas del Diablo. Dirigió para la radio un clásico del teatro cubano Requiem por Yarini e hizo la dirección, guión y producción de dos documentales: Al desnudo y El imberbe.

En la actualidad está trabajando en México D.F. donde dirigió el documental La noche se mueve, para TV UNAM; hizo la dirección escénica de la serie de 58 programas Conjuros (ILCE), gerencia de producción de la serie Las enseñanzas de Don Próspero (ILCE), la dirección de actores y la producción del corto de ficción Drácula y Julieta para la Universidad Iberoamericana de Puebla y la gerencia de producción de una serie de programas educativos de la SEP y en el de serie de TV Línea nocturna.
En Cuba protagonizó telenovelas, seriales y teleteatros en la televisión y Numerosas obras de teatro cubano y universal, entre las que se Destacan Una paloma, una estrella; Los amaneceres son aquí apacibles; Otelo, Los Gemelos; Contigo pan y cebolla, La fierecilla domada y Las siete patas del Diablo.
Dirigió para la radio cubana, un clásico del teatro cubano Requiem por Yarini Así como la dirección, guión y producción de los documentales: Al desnudo y El imberbe.
Dentro de su filmografía podemos verla en Guantanamera de Tomás Gutiérrez Alea, Alicia en el País de las Maravillas de Daniel Díaz Torres; Polvo de Ángel de Oscar Blancarte.
En el año 2008 presenta en México el monólogo Vivir a ciegas de su autoría y dirección, y también protagoniza el personaje de la enfermera en el filme Arresto domiciliario, Dirigido por Gabriel Retes.
Coprotagonizó la película “Polvo de Ángel”, dirigida por Oscar Blancarte, que se estrenó en Bogotá, producción México-Colombia. Tuvo la experiencia de entrenar lucha libre para enfrentarse en vivo con el popular luchador mexicano, La Park. Fue invitada a Costa Rica para actuar en la película “Arresto Domiciliario”, dirigida por Gabriel Retes.

Guitarrista y compositor de formación autodidacta, que incursionó en casi todos los géneros y ritmos de la música popular cubana, Miguel Matamoros disfrutó de enorme popularidad y fama. Oriundo de Santiago de Cuba, Miguel Matamoros nació el 8 de mayo de 1894 en el popular barrio Los Hoyos.
Antes de convertirse en el autor de numerosos temas considerados clásicos, Miguel Matamoros trabajó como chofer, carpintero, monaguillo de la Iglesia del Cristo, fabricante de losas y alfarero. A la edad de 15 años, ya tocaba guitarra, un arte que aprendió en la calle, con los amigos, dando serenatas y amenizando fiestas populares en los barrios de Santiago.
En 1910, con 16 años de edad, compuso su primera pieza musical: un bolero que tituló ‘El Consejo’. A partir de entonces realizaría muchas otras obras hasta llegar a alrededor de 198 donde se incluirían boleros, sones, pasodobles, habaneras y polcas, entre otros. Curiosamente, nunca incursionó en la rumba, y algunas de sus grandes obras se relacionaron con la trova tradicional.
Otro 8 de mayo, pero de 1925, fundó el Trío Matamoros, con Rafael Cueto, guitarra, y Siro Rodríguez, maracas y segunda voz. Tres años después hizo su primer viaje a Estados Unidos, y luego estuvieron de gira por varios países de América Latina y el Caribe.
En 1938 fue miembro de un jurado integrado, además, por Gonzalo Roig, Rita Montaner y Eliseo Grenet, que premió a Celia Cruz, en un concurso para elegir a la reina de la conga, organizado por Radio Lavín – Mil Diez. En 1943 el Trío Matamoros trabaja en las radioemisoras CMQ y Mil Diez, y en esta última se le incorpora Benny Moré como cantante.
En 1960 realizó su último viaje a los Estados Unidos, a su regreso se retiró de la vida artística, y el Trío se desintegró. Miguel Matamoros falleció el 15 de abril de 1971 en Santiago de Cuba.
Entre sus diez más conocidas creaciones se cuentan las siguientes: Lágrimas negras; Ay Mamá, son de la loma; El que siembra su maíz; La Mujer de Antonio; Juramento; Mariposita de primavera; Camarón y mamoncillo; Triste muy triste; El Paralítico y Dulce embeleso entre otros muchos.
