Sin noticias del hombre arrestado con violencia después de gritar “¡libertad!” en el mitin oficial. Ernesto Frank Sánchez Aguilar fue golpeado y sacado del lugar por varios miembros de la Seguridad del Estado. Cientos de detenidos en las protestas en Cuba están siendo juzgados en procesos sumarios. El régimen cubano resucita las guardias obreras para proteger los centros de trabajo. Madres cubanas se reunieron en las afueras de la prisión de 100 y Aldabó, en La Habana, con el fin de conocer la situación en la que se encuentran sus hijos, detenidos por participar en las protestas pacíficas del 11J en contra del Gobierno.

UN HOMBRE, identificado como Ernesto Frank Sánchez Aguilar, gritó “¡libertad!” este sábado poco antes del inicio del acto oficial en el Malecón de La Habana. El manifestante fue golpeado y sacado del lugar por varios miembros de la Seguridad del Estado, como se ve en un video difundido por la prensa extranjera.
Hasta el momento, solo se sabe que Sánchez reside en Centro Habana pero no hay información sobre si pertenece a algún grupo disidente o de derechos humanos. Se desconoce su paradero luego de haber sido arrestado violentamente ante las cámaras de los medios internacionales acreditados en el acto.
En un breve video que han difundido varias agencias informativas, se ve el momento en que Sánchez comienza a gritar y es rodeado por una turba de hombres fornidos que lo golpean y lanzan al suelo. Segundos después, el hombre reaparece ante las cámaras sometido por dos individuos y con el pulóver visiblemente desgarrado en la zona del cuello.

Los gritos de Sánchez ocurrieron en un momento en que el acto, que se inició al filo de las siete de la mañana, no había comenzado aún ni tampoco había amanecido. El hombre logró sortear los controles de acceso al área del mitin que fue rodeada de detectores de metales y un estricto operativo. Los estudiantes y trabajadores convocados debían llevar, incluso, cierta vestimenta para ser identificados como afines al Gobierno.
El arresto de Sánchez se suma a los cientos de reportes que han ido saliendo en los últimos días de detenciones posteriores a las protestas populares del pasado 11 de julio. Las autoridades han irrumpido en la casa de numerosos ciudadanos a lo largo del país, especialmente en las zonas donde las manifestaciones fueron más intensas como Cárdenas, La Habana, San Antonio de los Baños, Alquízar, Bayamo y Santiago de Cuba.
En todas las concentraciones se escucharon gritos de “abajo la dictadura” y “libertad”. El Gobierno cortó la conexión a internet en el país para impedir que los cubanos subieran a las redes sociales videos de lo que sucedía en las manifestaciones y mostraban además la represión hacia los participantes.
El lunes y martes se reportaron protestas en distintos puntos de la Isla pero la policía política incrementó la represión contra los manifestantes. En redes sociales se multiplicaron las denuncias de detenciones violentas casa por casa.
El 1 de mayo de 2017, la prensa internacional acreditada en la Isla, también registró en la Plaza de la Revolución de La Habana, el momento en que Daniel Llorente, conocido después como el hombre de la bandera, destacó por su activismo tras el deshielo diplomático entre Cuba y Estados Unidos. A escasos metros de la tribuna donde estaba el entonces presidente Raúl Castro, Llorente enarboló la bandera de Estados Unidos y a gritos pidió libertad para Cuba. Su carrera fue interrumpida por siete agentes de seguridad que se abalanzaron sobre él y lo redujeron por la fuerza.
El opositor pasó unas semanas detenido en la prisión de 100 y Aldabó pero fue rápidamente trasladado al Hospital Psiquiátrico conocido popularmente como Mazorra. Luego de un año fue liberado y emigró a Guyana, desde donde emprendió la travesía por varios países hasta llegar a EE UU y solicitar asilo.

Hundreds of detainees in the protests in Cuba are being tried in summary proceedings. The Cuban regime resurrects the workers’ guards to protect the work centers. Cuban mothers gathered on the outskirts of the 100 and Aldabó prison, in Havana, in order to learn about the situation in which their children are found, detained for participating in the peaceful protests of 11J against the Government.

A MAN, identified as Ernesto Frank Sánchez Aguilar, shouted “freedom!” this Saturday shortly before the start of the official act on the Malecón in Havana. The protester was beaten and taken from the scene by several members of the State Security, as seen in a video released by the foreign press.
So far, it is only known that Sánchez resides in Centro Habana but there is no information on whether he belongs to a dissident or human rights group. His whereabouts are unknown after he was violently arrested before the cameras of the international media accredited in the act.
In a short video released by various news agencies, the moment is seen when Sánchez begins to scream and is surrounded by a mob of burly men who beat him and throw him to the ground. Seconds later, the man reappears before the cameras subdued by two individuals, and with his pullover visibly torn in the neck area.
Sánchez’s screams occurred at a time when the act, which began at the stroke of seven in the morning, had not yet started nor had it dawned. The man managed to get around the access controls to the rally area that was surrounded by metal detectors and a strict operation. The summoned students and workers even had to wear certain clothing to be identified as being related to the Government.
Sánchez’s arrest adds to the hundreds of reports that have emerged in recent days of arrests after the popular protests of July 11. The authorities have broken into the homes of numerous citizens throughout the country, especially in areas where the demonstrations were most intense such as Cárdenas, Havana, San Antonio de Los Baños, Alquízar, Bayamo, and Santiago de Cuba.
Shouts of “down with the dictatorship” and “freedom” were heard in all the rallies. The Government cut the internet connection in the country to prevent Cubans from uploading videos of what happened in the demonstrations to social networks and also showed the repression of the participants.
On Monday and Tuesday, protests were reported in different parts of the island, but the political police increased the repression against the protesters. In social networks, complaints of house-to-house violent detentions multiplied.

On May 1, 2017, the international press accredited on the Island, also recorded in the Plaza de la Revolución in Havana, the moment when Daniel Llorente, later known as the man with the flag, stood out for his activism after the thaw diplomat between Cuba and the United States.
