EL GOBIERNO CUBANO anunció este miércoles que autoriza “de manera excepcional” a los pasajeros que lleguen a la Isla la importación de alimentos, productos de aseo y medicamentos. La entrada al país de estas mercancías será “sin límite de valor de importación y libre de pago de aranceles”, afirmó el primer ministro Manuel Marrero Cruz.
La medida, que estará en vigor hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2021, fue anunciada por Marrero en el programa Mesa Redonda, donde explicó también que estos productos “deben estar diferenciados del resto del equipaje”.
Marrero recordó que en la actualidad la entrada de los medicamentos se encuentra exenta de pagos de los derechos arancelarios y que se autoriza su importación no comercial de hasta 10 kilogramos.
El primer ministro puntualizó que se exceptúan de estas nuevas medidas los viajeros que llegan al país por Cayo Coco y Varadero con motivos turísticos, y que, según una medida reciente, solo pueden entrar con una maleta.

Ernesto Soberón, director general de Asuntos Consulares y Cubanos Residentes en el Exterior, había asegurado este domingo que esta es una campaña “para presentar la imagen de Cuba como un caos total” y que no se corresponde con la situación sanitaria real ni con sus indicadores de covid-19.
La nueva medida para las importaciones llega después de las manifestaciones de este domingo 11 de julio que han dejado fallecidos, detenciones y heridos en todo el país.
