WASHINGTON- El presidente de Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, informó este martes que el Ejército de su país llevó a cabo otro ataque contra un barco en el Caribe, cerca de las costas de Venezuela, y confirmó la muerte de “seis narcoterroristas”.
“Esta mañana, el Secretario de Guerra ordenó un ataque cinético letal contra un barco afiliado a una Organización Terrorista Designada (OTD) que realiza narcotráfico en el área de responsabilidad del Comando Sur de los Estados Unidos frente a la costa de Venezuela”, escribió en su red Truth Social.
Según Trump, la inteligencia estadounidense “confirmó que el buque traficaba narcóticos, estaba asociado con redes narcoterroristas ilícitas y transitaba por una ruta conocida” asociadas a los cárteles de la droga.
“El ataque se llevó a cabo en aguas internacionales y seis narcoterroristas varones a bordo del barco murieron. Ningún miembro de las Fuerzas Armadas de EE UU resultó herido”, agregó el mandatario.

WASHINGTON—US President Donald Trump reported Tuesday that his country’s military carried out another attack against a vessel in the Caribbean, near the coast of Venezuela, and confirmed the deaths of “six narco-terrorists.”
“This morning, the Secretary of War ordered a lethal kinetic strike against a vessel affiliated with a Designated Terrorist Organization (DTO) engaged in narco-trafficking in the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility off the coast of Venezuela,” he wrote on his Truth Social network.
According to Trump, US intelligence “confirmed that the vessel was smuggling narcotics, was associated with illicit narcoterrorist networks, and was transiting a known route” associated with drug cartels.
“The attack took place in international waters, and six male narcoterrorists aboard the vessel were killed. No members of the US Armed Forces were injured,” the president added.
This attack joins at least five operations the United States has carried out since September against alleged drug boats in the Caribbean.
Trump’s message is accompanied by a video showing a small boat being hit by a projectile in an explosion that engulfs it in flames.
