Rubén Cortada es considerado el hombre más guapo de España.
LA HABANA/MADRID- Desde que Rubén Cortada grabó su primera escena, para “El tiempo entre costuras” en 2011, ha ido haciendo caja por donde quiera que pasa y de ser un ‘guapo más’ en el mapa interpretativo español ha pasado a tener a un caché espléndido.
Los que le conocen bien dicen que aparcó con acierto su carrera de Ingeniería Automática en La Habana para explotar su espectacular físico e iniciar su travesía vital como modelo que lo llevaron desde España a Nueva York y a Milan.
Pero más que llegar a ser un top model, Cortada buscó en esta plataforma una forma de vida que le permitiese ganar dinero y sus pinitos con Jean Paul Gaultier hasta Dolce & Gabbana, no le recompensaban el esfuerzo y se volvió a la Habana
En esta nueva andadura de retorno, hizo sus primeras pruebas como actor en un grupo de teatro para aficionados y cuando se creyó curtido volvió a cruzar el charco en 2009 hacia España, según indica un reporte de El Confidencial
Fue en este momento cuando tomo la decisión de entrar en una agencia que guiara sus pasos y así encontró a Kalia Garzón, la “sombra que negocia hasta el último euro y exige a las empresas que lo contratan que paguen el montante exigido”.
La estrategia de ambos funcionó y su interpretación de Faruk en la serie de Telecinco El Príncipe, abrió a Cortada la parrilla televisiva española convirtiéndose en el más ‘oscuro’ objeto del deseo que una agencia pueda promocionar.
Ahora es muy conocido, pero en su debut en 2011 en Antena 3 como Jorge Infante en Bandolera (serie de ficción histórica ambientada en los finales del siglo XIX), muy pocos sabían que Rubén era cubano, nacido en el municipio especial Isla de la Juventud.
Cuando en El tiempo entre costuras (2013), muy pocos imaginaban que ese galán de ojos verdes, hijo de un ingeniero hidráulico y una microbióloga, hubiese seguido la tradición familiar y estudiara en el Preuniversitario Vocacional“Vladimir Ilich Lenin”, en La Habana.
Con la llegada de la serie Lo que escondían tus ojos (Telecinco), para interpretar a Ramón Serrano Súñer, cuñado de Franco, hombre fuerte del régimen y personaje principal, tuvo que buscar ayuda especializada para ajustarse al acento español.
En 2015 participó en Olmos y Robles, y dos años después en Ella es tu padre y en Supermax y actualmente reside en España, pero no olvida su tierra natal donde dio sus primeros pasos en la actuación en Réquiem por Yarini, de Humberto Rodríguez.
El actor pasó sus vacaciones del verano de 2019 en una playa y tras la emisión de la serie ‘Supermax’, en Cuatro, donde interpreta a Mercurio, junto a Santiago Segura y Cecilia Roth, ahora baraja varios proyectos profesionales.
Eligió la isla de Formentera con aguas en el mar mediterráneo, para disfrutar de unos días de sol y playa en compañía de su esposa, la modelo cubana Susana Pino y Mía, la hija de ambos que tiene ocho años los mismo de su relación con esta mujer.

Rubén Cortada is considered the most handsome man in Spain.
HAVANA/MADRID – Since Rubén Cortada filmed his first scene for “The Time in Between” in 2011, he has been making money wherever he goes, and from being just another “handsome man” on the Spanish acting scene, he has become a splendid celebrity.
Those who know him well say he wisely put aside his studies in Automatic Engineering in Havana to take advantage of his spectacular physique and begin his life journey as a model, which took him from Spain to New York and Milan.
But rather than becoming a top model, Cortada sought a way of life on this platform that would allow him to earn money, and his forays into acting with Jean Paul Gaultier and Dolce & Gabbana didn’t reward his efforts, so he returned to Havana.
In this new journey of return, he did his first auditions as an actor in an amateur theater group, and when he felt he was seasoned, he returned to Spain in 2009, according to a report by El Confidencial.
It was at this point that he decided to join an agency to guide his steps, and that’s how he found Kalia Garzón, the “shadow who negotiates down to the last euro and demands that the companies that hire him pay the required amount.”
Their strategy worked, and his portrayal of Faruk in the Telecinco series El Príncipe opened Cortada up to the Spanish television schedule, making him the most “obscure” object of desire an agency could promote.
He’s well known now, but when he debuted on Antena 3 in 2011 as Jorge Infante in Bandolera (a historical fiction series set in the late 19th century), very few knew that Rubén was Cuban, born in the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud.
When he appeared in The Time in Between (2013), very few imagined that this green-eyed heartthrob, son of a hydraulic engineer and a microbiologist, would follow the family tradition and study at the “Vladimir Ilich Lenin” Vocational Pre-University in Havana.
With the release of the series What Your Eyes Hid (Telecinco), to play Ramón Serrano Súñer, Franco’s brother-in-law, strongman of the regime and main character, he had to seek specialized help to adapt to the Spanish accent.
In 2015, he appeared in Olmos y Robles, and two years later in Ella es tu padre and Supermax. He currently resides in Spain, but he hasn’t forgotten his homeland, where he took his first steps in acting in Réquiem por Yarini, by Humberto Rodríguez.
The actor spent his summer 2019 vacation on a beach, and after the broadcast of the series “Supermax” on Cuatro, where he plays Mercurio alongside Santiago Segura and Cecilia Roth, he is now considering several professional projects.
He chose the island of Formentera, nestled in the Mediterranean Sea, to enjoy a few days of sun and sand with his wife, Cuban model Susana Pino, and Mía, their daughter, who is eight years old, the same age he has been in his relationship with this woman.
