Andy García se une a Anthony Hopkins y Michele Morrone en la película biográfica deportiva ‘Maserati: The Brothers’.
En la película sobre los hermanos detrás del icónico automóvil italiano, García interpretará al Sr. Rossini, descrito como “una figura central en la historia de los hermanos”. Morrone interpretará al hermano Alfieri Il Maserati. Hopkins interpretará a un financiero italiano que financia a la familia.
La película será producida por el italiano Andrea Iervolino, su nueva compañía de cine y televisión llamada The Andrea Iervolino Company y dirigida por el ganador del Oscar Bobby Moresco (Crash). El rodaje comenzará este mes en Italia.
Maserati fue fundada en 1914 en un garaje en la ciudad de Bolonia, en el centro de Italia, por tres hermanos: Alfieri, Ettore y Ernesto. Desde sus inicios, la empresa, que ahora es conocida por sus coches de lujo, estuvo vinculada al mundo de las carreras de coches. El primer vehículo de Gran Premio de Maserati es el que conducía Alfieri Maserati en la carrera de la Copa Messina de 1927 cuando tuvo un accidente casi fatal. Alfieri murió unos años después a la edad de 44 años por lesiones relacionadas con ese coche. En 1937, los hermanos vendieron una participación mayoritaria en la empresa que ahora es propiedad de Fiat.
La empresa anterior de Iervolino, ILBE Group, en la que estaba asociado con Monika Bacardi, produjo la película biográfica dirigida por Bobby Moresco Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend y también estuvo entre los productores de Ferrari de Micheal Mann protagonizada por Adam Driver y Penélope Cruz.
Más adelante este año, García será visto en un papel clave junto a Billy Bob Thornton en el drama televisivo de Paramount+ Landman de Taylor Sheridan y Christian Wallace. El año que viene, protagonizará la película de Twentieth Century Fox, Eenie Meanie, además de protagonizar junto a Toni Collette la película romántica Under The Stars.

Andy Garcia Joins Anthony Hopkins & Michele Morrone In the sports biopic ‘Maserati: The Brothers’.
In the film about the brothers behind the iconic Italian car, Garcia will play Mr. Rossini, described as “a central figure in the story of the brothers”. Morrone will star as brother Alfieri Il Maserati. Hopkins will play an Italian financier who bankrolls the family.
The film will be produced by Italy’s Andrea Iervolino his new film and TV outfit called The Andrea Iervolino Company and directed by Oscar winner Bobby Moresco (Crash). Filming is due to get underway this month in in Italy.
Maserati was founded in 1914 in a garage in the central Italian city of Bologna by three brothers: Alfieri, Ettore and Ernesto. From its early days, the company – which is now known for luxury cars — was connected to the world of car racing. Maserati’s first Grand Prix vehicle is the one that Alfieri Maserati was driving in the 1927 Messina Cup race when he had a near fatal crash. Alfieri died a few years later at the age of 44 from injuries related to that carsh. In 1937, the brothers sold a controlling stake in the company that is now owned by Fiat.
Iervolino’s previous company, ILBE Group – in which he was partnered with Monika Bacardi — produced the Bobby Moresco-directed biopic Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend and was also among the producers of Micheal Mann’s Ferrari starring Adam Driver and Penélope Cruz.
Later this year, Garcia will be seen in a key role opposite Billy Bob Thornton in the Paramount+ TV drama Landman from Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace. Next year, he will star in Twentieth Century Fox’s feature film, Eenie Meanie, as well as starring alongside Toni Collette in romantic feature Under The Stars.
