Francisco Armando Rodríguez Blanco fue un actor y artista leyenda con el nombre artístico de Armando Roblan, cubano hasta la médula, que veía el humor en todos los aspectos de su vida.
Roblán inició su carrera en los inicios de la televisión cubana dibujando caricaturas y realizando imitaciones en un programa amateur presentado por el magnate de la televisión Gaspar Pumarejo.
Armando Roblan nació en el pueblo de Bejucal en La Habana el 4 de febrero de 1931. Desde temprana edad mostró un talento natural para el dibujo y la actuación, al terminar primero en su escuela, ingresó a la (Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes San Alejandro) donde estudió pintura y escultura, es la escuela de bellas artes más antigua y prestigiosa de Cuba. Está ubicado en Mariano, un suburbio de La Habana. Fue fundado en 1818 en el Convento de San Alejandro por el pintor francés Jean Baptiste Vermay, quien fue su primer director. Actualmente se encuentra en un edificio monumental construido a principios de los años 1940.
Roblan fue actor y escritor, conocido por Freedom Flight (2005), Camaleon: Atentado a Castro (1992). Conocido por su extenso trabajo en teatro, radio y televisión en Cuba y Miami, Roblán fue mejor conocido por su extraordinaria personificación de Fidel Castro. Uno de sus éxitos fue mantener en cartelera en un cine local durante más de una década la comedia En los 90 Fidel revienta.
También perfeccionó las personificaciones de otras figuras y personajes del mundo del espectáculo como Maurice Chevalier, Nat King Cole, Bola de Nieve, Liberace y el poético cubano Luis Carbonell, entre otros. Roblán también trabajó en televisión en Panamá y Puerto Rico.
En Miami produjo, actuó y escribió numerosas obras vernáculas cubanas en el Teatro Martí y el Teatro Trail de la Calle Ocho.
A lo largo de su carrera artística, el artista Armando Roblan ha compartido su talento con cientos de estrellas latinoamericanas en muchos rincones del continente.
Dedicó y desarrolló su carrera artística, desde su estudio ubicado en Coral Gables, Florida. Siempre dejó abiertas sus opciones, para mantenerse en contacto con su amor, por las artes escénicas y realizó presentaciones regulares en Sábado Gigante, programa semanal de televisión de renombre internacional, conducido por la estación de TV Univisión, abarcando cobertura en toda América, Puerto Rico. y Estados Unidos, además de trabajar con su campo de representación satírica, Fidel Castro, en las ondas de la emisora TV Martí, encaminadas a escuchar a los cubanos disidentes, que permanecen viviendo en la isla.
El actor cubano Armando Roblán murió a causa de un linfoma en su casa de Coral Gables el 9 de enero de 2013. Tenía 81 años.

Francisco Armando Rodríguez Blanco was an actor and artist legend by the artistic name of Armando Roblan was Cuban to the core, who saw humor in every aspect of his life.
Roblán started his career in the early days of Cuban television drawing cartoons and performing impersonations in an amateur program presented by the TV tycoon Gaspar Pumarejo.
Armando Roblan was born in the town of Bejucal in Habana on February 4, 1931. From an early age he showed a natural talent for drawing and acting, by finishing top in his school, he entered the (San Alejandro National School of Fine Arts) where he studied painting and sculpture, is the oldest and most prestigious fine arts school in Cuba. It is located in Mariano, a suburb of Havana. It was founded in 1818 at the Convent of San Alejandro by the French painter Jean Baptiste Vermay, who was its first director. It is located today in a monumental building built in the early 1940’s.
Roblan was an actor and writer, known for Freedom Flight (2005), Camaleon: Atentado a Castro (1992). One of his successes was to keep the comedy En los 90 Fidel revienta (“In the 90s, Fidel Will Explode”) running at a local theater for more than a decade.
He also perfected the impersonations of other figures and characters in the world of show business such as Maurice Chevalier, Nat King Cole, Bola de Nieve, Liberace and Cuban poetry performer Luis Carbonell, among others. Roblán also worked on television in Panama and Puerto Rico.
In Miami he produced, acted and wrote numerous Cuban vernacular plays at the Martí Theater and Trail Theater on Calle Ocho.
Throughout his artistic career, artist Armando Roblan has shared his talent with hundreds of Latin American stars in many corners of the continent.
He dedicated and developed his artistic career, from his studio located in Coral Gables, Florida. He always left his options open, to keep in touch with his love, for the performing arts and made regular performances in Sabado Gigante, a weekly renown internationally television show, hosted by TV station Univision, encompassing coverage throughout all of the America’s, Puerto Rico and the United States, in addition to working with his satirical representation field, Fidel Castro, on the airwaves of the radio station TV Marti, aimed at hearing to the dissident Cubans, who remain living on the island.
Cuban actor Armando Roblán died of lymphoma in his home in Coral Gables 9 January 2013. He was 81.
