EL BOLERO CUBANO “NOSOTROS”, UNA JOYA DE AMOR CON UN VERDADERO Y TRISTE FINAL. PHOTOS/VIDEOS..
Esta es una verdadera historia ocurrida en la vieja provincia cubana de Pinar del Rio, y que aunque dolorosa por su triste final trae a nuestra memoria lo hermoso y sacrificado de una relación amorosa prohibida.
Al igual que “Tristezas”, considerado el primer bolero cubano y nacido en Santiago de Cuba, el bolero de esta historia “Nosotros” refleja el mismo sentimiento de desesperación de dos amantes, de un amor truncado, y que tuvo su nacimiento al otro extremo de nuestra bella isla.
LA HISTORIA DEL BOLERO CUBANO “NOSOTROS”
El personaje central de ésta historia es el compositor pinareño Pedro Junco Jr., un prolífero cantaautor y destacado poeta que desde temprana edad se distinguió al piano, amante de la naturaleza y de los deportes.
Según la crónica de esos tiempos (1940) sus amigos lo recuerdan como un ser desprendido, solidario y de un gran sentimiento interior, que es reflejado en las 36 canciones que compusiera en su corta vida, todas ellas de una suavidad y ternura pocas veces unidas en autor alguno, entre estas: ‘Me lo dijo el Amor’, ‘Como soy’ y ‘Cuando te vi llorar’ que sería su última composición.

El otro personaje central lo era una joven alta y hermosa, de cabellos negros y largos, de ojos expresivos y dulce rostro que procedía del interior de la provincia (San Juan y Martinez) y que su familia envió interna al Colegio de monjas del ‘Inmaculado Corazón de María’ de la capital (el nombre de la joven nunca se ha dado a conocer por respeto a su conocido apellido local).
Todas las tardes la joven, entonces de unos 20 años, al igual que Pedro, salía del colegio de monjas para ir a estudiar al Instituto de Segunda Enseñanza. Pedro que estudiaba en el mismo plantel muchas veces pasó junto a ella observandola con detenimiento poco usual en él. En ese entonces y a pesar de su delgadez, el era un joven de unos seis pies y dos pulgadas, de unas 175 libras, tenia la piel muy rosada y unos profundos ojos negros como atestigua una foto que todavia conservamos. Al poco tiempo los jovenes se enamoraron, viviendo un idilio a escondida de la familia de la muchacha que consideraba como pecado la fama de bohemio del compositor.
La historia cuenta de un fuerte amor intenso, breve pero tambien desde el comienzo imposible, Pedro estaba enfermo mortalmente, la tuberculosis que en ese entonces era incurable minaba su cuerpo ya con solo 23 años de edad.
Pasando los días Pedro comprendió que su amor por la joven era imposible y tenía que actuar inmediatamente ante lo sano y hermoso de ese mismo amor. Fue una hermosa página de renunciamiento y profundo dolor.

A forma de despedida, el autor compone para ella el bolero internacionalmente ya conocido con los tiempos “Nosotros” que dice así:
“Atiendeme.. quiero decirte algo, que quizás no esperes, doloroso tal vez ..
Escuchame… que aunque me duela el alma, yo necesito hablarte y así lo haré.
Nosotros, que fuimos tan sinceros, que desde que nos vimos, amándonos estamos.
Nosotros, que del amor hicimos, un sol maravilloso,
romance tan divino.
Nosotros,que nos queremos tanto, debemos separarnos,
no me preguntes más.
No es falta de cariño,
te quiero con el alma.
Te juro que te adoro
y en nombre de éste amor
y por tu bien te digo adios”..
LLEGA EL TRISTE FINAL…
Cuenta la crónica de la época que cuatro días antes de la muerte del músico, éste le envió a su bella amada este último mensaje y ella lo guardó en el fondo de su corazón adolorido entonces por su tragico contenido y la tristeza que este le ocasionaba y que guardo por muchos años por votos de amor.
Ya en su lecho de muerte le pidió al tenor René Cabel que cantara su composición y desde su cuarto de moribundo, donde le llevaron un radio, pudo escuchar la bella melodía que hasta nuestros días ha sido interpretada por las mejores y más populares voces internacionales de los afamados cantantes Julio Iglesias, Luis Miguel, Plácido Domingo, Don Pedro Vargas y Sarita Montiel entre otros.
Hoy, allá en un viejo cementerio pinareño descansan, separados al igual que entonces, los restos de Pedro y su bella amada, al igual que el hermoso recuerdo de aquel bolero que este le dedicára y que hasta hoy ha perdurado musicalmente a pesar del tiempo.
Este es nuestro pequeño homenaje a ese recuerdo doloroso y por supuesto, como un homenaje póstumo al autor pinareño Pedro Junco, autor de “Nosotros”.

The other central character was a tall and beautiful young woman with long black hair, expressive eyes, and a sweet face who came from the interior of the province (San Juan and Martinez) and who her family sent as an intern to the College of nuns of the ‘Inmaculada Heart of Mary’ of the capital (the name of the young woman has never been released out of respect for her well-known local surname).

Pedro, who studied on the same campus as hers, passed by her many times, observing her with unusual attention to detail. Shortly after, the young people fell in love, living an idyll hidden from the girl’s family who considered the composer’s fame as a bohemian a sin.
The story tells of strong intense love, brief but also from the beginning impossible, Pedro was mortally ill, tuberculosis that at that time was incurable undermined his body when he was only 23 years old.
As the days passed, Pedro understood that his love for the young woman was impossible and he had to act immediately in the face of the healthy and beautiful nature of that same love. It was a beautiful page of renunciation and deep pain.
As a farewell, the author composes for her the internationally known bolero with the times “Nosotros”, which reads as follows:
“Listen to me… I want to tell you something that you may not expect, perhaps painful…
Listen to me… although my soul hurts, I need to talk to you and I will do so.
We, who were so sincere, that since we saw each other, we are loving each other.
We, who made love, a wonderful sun,
romance so divine
We, who love each other so much, must separate,
ask me no more
It’s not a lack of affection
I love you with the soul.
I swear I adore you
and in the name of this love
and for your sake I say goodbye.
THE SAD END COMES…
The chronicle of the time tells that four days before the musician’s death, he sent his beautiful beloved this last message and she kept it in the depths of her aching heart then because of its tragic content and the sadness that it caused her and that I keep for many years by vows of love.
Already on his deathbed, he asked the tenor René Cabel to sing his composition and from his dying room, where they brought him a radio, he was able to listen to the beautiful melody that to this day has been performed by the best and most popular international voices of the famous singers Julio Iglesias, Luis Miguel, Plácido Domingo, Don Pedro Vargas, and Sarita Montiel among others.
Today, in an old cemetery in the beautiful Pinar del Río rest, separated as then, the remains of Pedro and his beloved, as well as the memory of that bolero that he dedicated to her and that until today has lasted musically despite the time.
This is our little tribute to that painful memory, and of course as a posthumous tribute to Pinar del Río’s author Pedro Junco, creator of the bolero “Nosotros”.
