La esclava Isaura, Doña Bella y Vale Todo: Tres telenovelas brasileñas que marcaron hito en Cuba.
Si algo disfruta un cubano es ese momento sublime de bañarse, comer y sentarse a ver la novela y si es brasileña mejor. Algunas son tan largas que al terminarse quedas extrañando a sus personajes. Estas tres Telenovelas de que hablaremos a continuacion se anidaron en nuestra memoria colectiva por siempre.
“Y tú quién te piensas que yo soy… ¿La esclava Isaura?”
Esta frase cubana de origen brasileño, es comprensible en portugués y español. Se basa en la historia de “La esclava Isaura”, una telenovela del año 1976, cuyo papel protagónico fue interpretado por Lucélia Santos. Alcanzó una audiencia nunca vista en el mundo y por su éxito la Globo le hizo remake en el año 2005.
Isaura era una esclava mestiza, huérfana de nacimiento. Su madre fue una negra esclavizada y su padre un blanco, capataz, que no tenía dinero para comprar la libertad de la hija. Creció bajo la educación de su ama y el tormento de su amo, el comendador Almeida.
Isaura soñaba con su libertad y con el amor de Tobías, un príncipe azul brasileño, con muchas tierras y cabezas de ganado. Pero el triángulo de amor se cierra con Leoncio, hijo del comendador Almeida y supervillano de la trama.
A partir de aquí la novela da un giro inesperado y no te cuento más porque ha pasado tanto tiempo que quizás no la has visto, o no la recuerdas. Si te animas a redescubrir la historia de Isaura prepara pañuelitos.
Doña Bella, la que se bañaba en leche
Cómo olvidar la belleza de la reina de Araxá que mientras todos los cubanos tomábamos cerelac, se bañaba en leche como si fuera Cleopatra. Esta telenovela brasileña del año 1986 está inspirada en un personaje real del siglo XIX, Ana Jacinta de Sao José.
Cuenta la historia de una hermosa mujer que fue raptada y violada por el oidor de la región. El amor de su vida decide darle la espalda y ella empieza un camino de venganza contra los hombres. El personaje fue interpretado por la actriz brasileña Maitê Proença.
Doña Bella construye la finca de Jatobá, el mejor burdel de la región. De esta manera se gana el repudio de toda la población femenina y la adoración de los hombres. Lo que sigue es una historia compleja de amor y odio, que tiene de todo un poco.
En cuestiones de dinero y poder Vale Todo
Al menos eso nos trataron de mostrar los de Rede Globo cuando sacaron al aire su telenovela más compleja desde el punto de vista cultural, pues puso a toda la sociedad brasileña a reflexionar sobre: “¿Vale la pena ser honesto en el Brasil de hoy?”
En Cuba, la cosa también tuvo su profunda lectura. Es con esta telenovela que surge el término “paladares” para designar esa gran red de restaurantes privados que funcionaba clandestinamente en la Isla. Está inspirado en los Paladares de Raquel.
La actriz Regina Duarte dio vida al personaje de Raquel. Es una mujer humilde y trabajadora de Paraná que lucha por criar a su hija María de Fátima, la villana de la telenovela, excelentemente interpretada por Gloria Pires.
María de Fátima vende la casa de su madre y huye con todo el dinero a Rio de Janeiro. La deja en la miseria absoluta y Raquel debe abrirse camino en una de las ciudades más convulsas de Latinoamérica vendiendo bocadillos en la playa.
Esta telenovela tiene una trama compleja que se disfruta poco a poco. Excelentes actuaciones y mucha crítica social. Fue la primera vez que se trataron en la televisión brasileña cuestiones latentes en la sociedad como la corrupción, el alcoholismo y las relaciones homosexuales.
Los cubanos seguimos viendo telenovelas en la actualidad. Hay muchos personajes y actores brasileños queridos por el pueblo de Cuba.

Slave Isaura, Doña Bella, and Vale Todo: Three Brazilian soap operas that marked a milestone in Cuba
If a Cuban enjoys something, it is that sublime moment of bathing, eating and sitting and watching the novel and if it is Brazilian better. Some are so long that in the end you are missing their characters. These three soap operas that we will talk about next were nested in our collective memory forever.

This Cuban phrase of Brazilian origin is understandable in Portuguese and Spanish. It is based on the story of “The Slave Isaura”, a soap opera of the year 1976, whose leading role was played by Lucélia Santos. Doña Bella, the one who bathed in milk
How to forget the beauty of the queen of Araxá that while all Cubans drank cerelac, bathed in milk as if it were Cleopatra. This 1986 Brazilian soap opera is inspired by a real 19th-century character, Ana Jacinta de Sao José.
It tells the story of a beautiful woman who was abducted and raped by the hearer of the region. The love of her life decides to turn her back and she begins a path of revenge against men. The character was played by Brazilian actress Maitê Proença.
