A new way to make outdoor tourism and explore the island opens space in Cuban territory through the project “Cuba on the road” (Cuba on wheels) made public through European travel agencies.

It is a product with only two years of implementation for the international market that is assisted by well equipped caravans and great comfort to offer customers around the world the possibility of knowing the island freely.

In this regard, the director of Daiquiri Tours, the Italian company in charge of this project, Aleida Castellanos, said this allows the client to move without worries and to know the most recondite and fascinating points of our geography. Indicating that another of the great attractions of this new product is the fact that travelers have the opportunity to interact with people from the places they arrive and familiarize themselves with the Cuban way of being.

For the representative of Daiquiri Tours, an agency based in Italy and more than 15 years dedicated to tourism “ad hoc” on the island, “Cuba on wheels is a new way to explore in freedom, in the open air, for the tourist to choose the places to be, their own excursions with the “campers” or caravans equipped with everything as if they were in a hotel, “he added.

According to Castellanos, the 20 existing mobile homes currently have a bathroom with shower, hot water, comfortable beds and kitchen with necessary utensils including table with 4 chairs, as well as other facilities that allow customers to enjoy an unforgettable vacation . So far, 20 parking points are enabled from the western end to the keys of the center-north of the island, where they are assured electricity, water and dumping of the residuals to the campers.

The east of the country does not yet have these facilities, although work is being done to expand the service and in the same way customers can travel to that area without restrictions.

The cost of the caravans, with capacity for 6 people, is around 300 dollars a day, but the price decreases as long as the transportation is for more days.

According to market studies, bicycles and motorcycles are in greater demand among young people between 18 and 35 years old, while mobile homes are widely accepted by families, groups of friends and couples between 40 and 50 years old.

Una nueva forma para hacer turismo al aire libre y explorar la isla se abre espacio en territorio cubano a través del proyecto “Cuba on the road” (Cuba sobre ruedas) hecho público a través de Agencias de viajes Europeas.

Se trata de un producto con sólo dos años de implementación para el mercado internacional que se auxilia de auto caravanas bien dotadas y de gran confort para ofrecerle a clientes de todo el mundo la posibilidad de conocer libremente la isla.

Al respecto, la directora de Daiquiri Tours, la empresa italiana encargada de este proyecto, Aleida Castellanos, dijo esto permite al cliente moverse sin preocupaciones y conocer los puntos más recónditos y fascinantes de nuestra geografía. Indicando que otro de los grandes atractivos de este novedoso producto, es el hecho de que los viajeros tienen la oportunidad de interactuar con personas de los lugares donde lleguen y familiarizarse con el modo de ser del cubano.

Para la representante de Daiquiri Tours, agencia con sede en Italia y más de 15 años dedicada al turismo “ad hoc” en la isla, “Cuba sobre ruedas es una manera nueva de explorar en libertad, al aire libre, que el turista escoja los lugares donde estar, sus propias excursiones con los “campers” o auto caravanas dotadas con todo como si estuvieran en un hotel”, añadió.

De acuerdo con Castellanos, las 20 casas rodantes existentes en la actualidad cuentan con baño con ducha, agua caliente, cómodas camas y cocina con los utensilios necesarios incluida mesa con 4 sillas, así como otras facilidades que permiten a los clientes disfrutar de unas vacaciones inolvidables. Hasta el momento, están habilitados 20 puntos de aparcamiento desde el extremo occidental hasta la cayería del centro-norte de la isla, donde se les asegura electricidad, agua y vertimiento de los residuales a los campistas.

El oriente del país aún no cuenta con estas facilidades, aunque se trabaja para expandir el servicio y de igual forma los clientes pueden viajar a esa zona sin restricciones.

El costo de las auto caravanas, con capacidad para 6 personas, es de alrededor de 300 dólares diarios, pero el precio disminuye en la medida que se rente el transporte por mayor cantidad de días.

“Tenemos perspectivas grandes sobre todo en el mercado alemán y holandés que son expertos en esta modalidad y para el 2019 ya tenemos diferentes grupos de campers reservados. Se va conociendo, introduciendo en cada mercado y comercializándose el producto y hay una buena demanda”, dijo Castellanos.

El proyecto abarca también excursiones guiadas o libres en “scooters Piaggio” (motocicletas) de tres ruedas, fabricadas en Italia, y bicicletas eléctricas, para aquellas personas que prefieren marcar su propio paso en las ciudades o territorios rurales. Según estudios de mercado, las bicicletas y motos tienen mayor demanda en los jóvenes entre 18 y 35 años, mientras las casas rodantes gozan de gran aceptación en las familias, grupos de amigos y parejas entre 40 y 50 años.
