Lanzan una campaña (Twitter) para que Clinton y Trump pongan a Cuba en su agenda.
El Foro Cubano por los Derechos y Libertades lanzó hoy una campaña pública en las redes sociales para reclamar a los candidatos a la Casa Blanca Hillary Clinton y Donald Trump que pongan a Cuba en sus agendas como tema prioritario.
“¡Cuba importa!” es el nombre de esta campaña especialmente dirigida a los electores estadounidenses, pero en la que cualquier persona con una cuenta en Twitter puede participar simplemente entrando en la página web del foro y enviando un mensaje a través de la misma a la demócrata Clinton, el republicano Trump y/o el presidente de EE UU, Barack Obama.

“A mas de un año del acercamiento entre la administración del presidente Barack Obama y el régimen de La Habana, la sociedad cubana ha experimentado un proceso de deterioro acelerado que ha resultado en un recrudecimiento de la represión policial sobre la población civil y en una de las mayores crisis migratorias de su historia”, señaló el Foro en el comunicado de presentación.
Los promotores de “¡Cuba importa!” consideran que es sustancial que quien gane las elecciones presidenciales del 8 de noviembre en EE UU “garantice un manejo adecuado de sus relaciones con el régimen de La Habana”.
El Foro por los Derechos y Libertades está formado por varias organizaciones opositoras dentro de Cuba.

Uno de los mensajes que se pueden enviar tanto a Clinton, Trump como Obama señala en inglés que “Castro debe irse antes de que sea demasiado tarde” acompañado de una foto de Raúl Castro, presidente de Cuba, junto al mandatario de Rusia, Vladimir Putin, y otra junto al de China, Xi Jinping.
La otra variante muestra una foto de una balsa llena de cubanos con la leyenda “Castro debe irse o seguiremos llegando”.
Los mensajes están escritos íntegramente en inglés. En el caso de Clinton termina con las frases “Haga de Cuba una prioridad en noviembre. Juntos seremos más fuertes”.
En el de Trump, la segunda frase cambia a “Juntos seremos más grandes”, en alusión a su lema de campaña, que propone hacer a Estados Unidos “grande” otra vez.
A Obama se le recuerda su celebre lema “Sí se puede”. “Sí, usted puede hacer algo”, dice el mensaje.

HUYEN UNOS 400 CUBANOS HACIA LA SELVA DE DARIÉN PARA NO SER DEPORTADOS.
Los migrantes cubanos se arriesgan a los peligros de una travesía por la selva del Darién para evitar la deportación.
La Región del Darién, también conocida como el Tapón del Darién, abarca la provincia panameña del Darién, las comarcas indígenas de Guna Yala, Madugandí, Wargandí, Emberá-Wounaan, los distritos de Chimán y este de Chepo, todos en Panamá, y el norte de los departamentos del Chocó y Antioquia, al oeste del golfo de Urabá, en Colombia.
Al menos 400 migrantes cubanos han emprendido el camino hacia la selva en los últimos días por temor a ser deportados a la isla. Solo unos pocos permanecen en el almacén que les sirvió de refugio en Turbo.
El viejo almacén que servía de refugio a los cubanos varados en Turbo se vaciaba este lunes con la salida voluntaria de cientos de cubanos que han preferido solicitar el salvoconducto de Migración Colombia y continuar camino a través de la selva del Darién hacia Estados Unidos, su destino final.
Aristaly Mabel, una de las cubanas que aún permanece en el albergue, se aprestaba este lunes a solicitar el documento que le permite a los migrantes transitar legalmente en el país por un período de cinco días, lapso que aprovechan los cubanos para huir por la selva y evitar la deportación.
Unos 200 cubanos quedarían en la emblemática bodega en la que hace apenas unos días convivían hacinados unos 1.200 cubanos, según un censo de la Procuraduría colombiana.
Mercedes Salazar, otra cubana varada en Turbo, manifestó igualmente su resolución de seguir camino.
“Todos cogiendo salvaconducto, o mejor, deportación voluntaria, para ingresar a la selva. ¡Qué Dios disponga!”, señaló.
Mientras, la ofensiva de las autoridades colombianas para sacar de Turbo a cientos de migrantes cubanos que buscan llegar a Estados Unidos incluye hasta presión y amenazas contra los pobladores locales que intenten asistirlos, dijeron el lunes medios locales y activistas de derechos humanos.
Una fotografía muestra cómo los cubanos suben a las lanchas que los llevan hasta Capurganá para seguir, por la selva, su camino hacia Panamá. No todos cuentan con el dinero necesario para pagar el costo de la embarcación, menos aún para solicitar los servicios de un coyote que los guíe por la selva.
“En los últimos cinco días han salido más de 400 migrantes ante el temor de ser deportados a Cuba”, dijo la nota de El País.
La avalancha de cubanos saliendo de Turbo fue una reacción inmediata a la decisión de Colombia de no ceder a la petición de facilitar un puente humanitario que los lleve hasta México.
Los cubanos se han visto en la disyuntiva de ser deportados o tomar la ruta que implica atravesar la selva del Tapón del Darién.
El anuncio del Ejecutivo colombiano de que si no se van por sus propios medios, serán deportados, se suma a la presencia de la Policía en hoteles y la latente amenaza de intervenir la bodega donde se refugia la mayoría.
La “recomendación” de las autoridades también ha intimidado a la población de Turbo, que ha ofrecido ayuda a los cubanos en los últimos tres meses.
Atravesar la Selva.
Liduine Zumpolle, una holandesa que trabaja por los derechos humanos en Colombia desde hace varias décadas y es representante de la corporación Manos por la Paz, también ha acompañado a los migrantes cubanos desde mucho antes de que explotara el drama de estos últimos días.
“Desde octubre del año pasado he investigado la difícil situación que tienen que vivir los migrantes en el paso por Colombia, y que se ha agudizado desde que Panamá cerró la frontera”, cuenta Zumpolle. Según ella, además de la ferocidad de la selva, los llamados coyotes han empeorado las condiciones de quienes intentan pasar hacia el país vecino.
“Es una mafia establecida con complicidad, muchas veces, de las autoridades (…) “Seguí a un grupo de cubanos, pero los coyotes no dejan pasar a cualquiera. Nos impidieron el paso. A ellos no los dejan tomar fotos en el camino, les roban lo poco que llevan o los estafan prometiéndolos que los van a guiar, pero al final los dejan abandonados”, narró Zumpolle.
La activista de derechos humanos agregó que “en el camino hay restos humanos y esqueletos. Hay muchos desaparecidos. Uno encuentra ropa, juguetes de niños”, explicó Zumpolle.
La semana pasada, uno de los cubanos que se preparaba en Capurganá para la peligrosa aventura, Luis González, dijo a la AFP: “”No queda otro recurso que echarnos a la selva. Responsabilizamos de lo que nos pase al presidente de Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos; a su canciller, María Ángela Holguín (…) y a la coalición internacional, encabezada por (el mandatario ecuatoriano) Rafael Correa, por darnos la espalda”.
