Con los primeros acordes de «Jumpin Jack Flash» un sinfín de teléfonos móviles iluminaron la Ciudad Deportiva de La Habana: todos querían registrar para el recuerdo la entrada triunfal de The Rolling Stones en un concierto espectacular y único con el que conquistaron en Cuba la última frontera del rock. «Sabemos que años atrás era difícil escuchar nuestra música en Cuba, pero aquí estamos tocando para ustedes en su linda tierra. Pienso que finalmente los tiempos están cambiando», apuntó Mick Jagger, en un claro español, sobre los inicios de la Revolución, cuando el rock extranjero no era bien visto por el oficialismo.
Dos horas y media de «Sus Satánicas Majestades» en acción sirvieron para que Cuba saldara esa deuda con el rock; pagada con creces con un concierto gratuito y al aire libre, que congregó a cientos de miles de personas, el primero en la isla de los británicos.

Un público entregado
Después de calentar el ambiente con «It’s only rock and roll», «Angie», «Paint it black» o «All down the line» —elegida por sus seguidores en las redes sociales para esta cita—; cuando se llegaba a la primera hora de concierto, se hizo el silencio para escuchar a Keith Richards arrancar, con una sola mano, los primeros acordes de «Honky Town Woman».

«¿Están listos?» gritó Jagger, y dos segundos después, se escucharon las primeras notas de «Satisfaction», todo el público empezó a saltar, el concierto alcanzó un climax perfecto: hasta Charlie Watts esbozó una sonrisa.
