Para el año 2016 Cuba contará con modernos misiles aire-aire adquiridos a Rusia, según la agencia RIA Novosti. El Gobierno de la Isla recibirá un lote de Vympel R-73E, que se suman a las unidades que ya ha importado desde ese país en los últimos años, explicó en sus declaraciones Yuri Klinshin, presidente de la empresa Duks.
La nota añade que el misil es altamente maniobrable y que puede alcanzar una velocidad superior a los 2.500 km/h y un alcance máximo de 30 kilómetros. Otros países ya han comprado estas armas como Vietnam, Angola, Venezuela, Uruguay o Indonesia entre otros.
