El músico panameño Rubén Blades dice que la ‘izquierda doctrinaria latinoamericana no ha podido trascender los desacreditados discursos de barricada’.
El cantautor aplaudió la “honestidad y madurez” mostrada por el escritor uruguayo Eduardo Galeano, quien recientemente admitió errores en su libro “Las venas abiertas de América Latina”.
“No sería capaz de leerlo de nuevo. Caería desmayado”, dijo el uruguayo en Brasil, donde participó en la Segunda Bienal del Libro. “Para mí, esa prosa de la izquierda tradicional es aburridísima. Mi físico no aguantaría. Sería ingresado al hospital”, aseguró Galeano en abril.
Al elogiar la actitud del escritor uruguayo, Blades señala que “la izquierda doctrinaria latinoamericana no ha podido trascender los desacreditados discursos de barricada, los apoyos incondicionales y la repetición de pensamientos invalidados por el tiempo”.
En un artículo publicado en su web, el autor de Tiburón considera que muchos intelectuales de la “izquierda tradicional criolla permanecen encerrados en un dogma indefensible, colgados todavía de rituales como el culto a Fidel”.
“Como si no hubiese transcurrido el tiempo y como si hubiesen aprendido nada de lo que ha ocurrido desde entonces”, indica Blades.
Reclama además que se deje de “culpar exclusivamente al imperialismo, al capitalismo y a la derecha por los males del mundo, sin aceptar la parte de responsabilidad que nos corresponde a todos los seres humanos, incluyendo a los que militamos desde la izquierda”.
El músico dice que Galeano, “al admitir públicamente sus dudas, expone en sus revelaciones la mentira en la que insiste vivir ese fragmento de la izquierda latinoamericana”.
CONTRADICCIONES DE LA IZQUIERDA.
Rubén Blades recuerda que actualmente Venezuela “nutre a Estados Unidos con el petróleo que le permite continuar su ritmo de acción ‘imperialista”, mientras que, en Nicaragua, “Ortega se alía con lo que una vez denunció como el corrupto poder político para alterar la constitución y poder lograr la reelección”.
“En Cuba, a una población con uno de los mayores niveles de educación de América, no se le permite el ejercicio de la libre expresión de su pensamiento crítico”, denuncia el artista.
Según Blades, “la izquierda debe reconocer la necesidad de evolucionar como opción, mejorada y consolidada, moderna e inclusiva”.
Asegura que esto resulta imprescindible “para enfrentar inteligentemente los cantos de sirena de la derecha y de sus manifestaciones más extremas e inhumanas, como los grupos xenófobos y/o neo-fascistas, que cada vez adquieren mayor protagonismo popular en el escenario político y social mundial”.
Y aclara que la “autocrítica” de Galeano “no significa la aceptación de la derecha y sus argumentos anti-populares, anti-solidarios y eminentemente materialistas”.
“Su autocrítica no equivale a un abrazo con el fascismo, como el que se dio Stalin con Hitler en el ’40, para quedarse con la mitad de Polonia, algo que por entonces tampoco fue criticado por la mayoría izquierdista. Galeano no ha renunciado al contenido del argumento social justo, fundamento vital de la izquierda. Su autocrítica es un signo de madurez”, afirma.
En el artículo advierte que la izquierda “corre el riesgo de transformarse en algo políticamente irrelevante, como le ocurrió al Marxismo-Leninismo, a consecuencia de heridas auto-infligidas”.

The singer praised the “honesty and maturity ” shown by the Uruguayan writer Eduardo Galeano, who recently admitted errors in his book ” Open Veins of Latin America” .

According to Blades, ” the left must recognize the need to evolve as an option, enhanced and consolidated , modern and inclusive ” .
