MÉXICO SE ADELANTA A EEUU ENVIANDO UNA DELEGACIÓN COMERCIAL A CUBA.
La delegación empresarial mexicana se adelantará de esta forma a otra misión de la Cámara de Comercio de Estados Unidos, que también proyecta viajar a la isla este mes en una misión similar de exploración.
El portal digital Milenio, en su sección internacional, destaca este jueves que México se adelantará a Estados Unidos “y enviará a Cuba a su secretario de Economía, Idelfonso Guajardo, y a una delegación de casi 60 importantes empresarios para explorar las posibilidades de comercio e inversión”, según anunció en La Habana el embajador de ese país, Juan José Bremer, y el nuevo Consejero Comercial de ProMéxico en la isla, embajador Luis Cabrera.
Según Cabrera, “Guajardo participará asimismo el lunes en la inauguración de una oficina permanente de ProMéxico en Cuba, luego de cerrar sus puertas en 2004, y asistirá a un seminario de negocios entre empresarios de los dos países, en lo que calificó de buen momento para profundizar las relaciones bilaterales”.
El secretario de Economía estará acompañado por los directores generales de Bancomext, Enrique de la Madrid, y de ProMéxico, Francisco González, destaca la información , “así como por la subsecretaria de Relaciones Exteriores para América Latina y el Caribe, Vanessa Rubio.
Situada a unos 50 kilómetros al oeste de La Habana, la llamada zona franca del Mariel forma parte del megapuerto del mismo nombre que los cubanos desarrollan con financiamiento brasileño y constituye “el centro de las mayores facilidades fiscales recién aprobadas en la isla para atraer inversión extranjera”.
De esta forma, la delegación empresarial mexicana se adelantará a otra misión de la Cámara de Comercio de Estados Unidos, que también proyecta viajar a la isla este mes en una misión parecida de exploración, a partir de los cambios que se registran en la isla desde 2008, a pesar de que no existen relaciones diplomáticas entre Cuba y EEUU.
