En medio de una avalancha de críticas a las autoridades gubernamentales, el Ministerio de Cultura decidió este martes levantar la sanción decretada contra el músico cubano Robertico Carcassés.
Esta vez el portador de la noticia fue el cantautor Silvio Rodríguez, quien horas antes había calificado de “torpezas” tanto la conducta de Carcassés como la sanción impuesta por el Instituto de la Música.
“Autoridades del Ministerio de Cultura se reunieron hoy con Robertico Carcassés y las conversaciones fueron tan positivas que han decidido dejar sin efecto la sanción”, escribió Rodríguez en su blog Segunda Cita. “Dicen que la gente hablando se entiende. Ojalá así sea siempre”.

De inmediato, Carcassés acompañará a Rodríguez en sendos conciertos programados para este fin de semana en las barriadas de Santiago de las Vegas y El Chico, como había previamente anunciado el trovador.
Rodríguez fue uno de los promotores y protagonistas del concierto en la Tribunal Antimperialista, el pasado jueves, por la liberación de cuatro agentes cubanos que cumplen largas condenas en cárceles de Estados Unidos. La celebración se correspondía con la detención y encauzamiento en Miami de 10 agentes de la Red Avispa, desmantelada en 1998.
En el acto, Carcassés tomó el micrófono para improvisar un estribillo con el que pidió la elección del presidente por vía directa, libertad de información y los mismos derechos para todos los cubanos, sin calificativos de “militantes ni disidentes”.
Al día siguiente, funcionarios del Instituto de la Música le comunicaron que había sido suspendido indefinidamente y no podría presentarse con su grupo Interactivo en las instituciones estatales.
Sus declaraciones y la suspensión decretada desataron una candente polémica entre partidarios del oficialismo a ultranza y defensores del derecho del artista a expresar libremente sus opiniones.
El debate en torno a Carcassés se ha reducido dentro de Cuba a algunos blogs, sitios digitales y redes sociales, pero ha estado ausente de los medios impresos, la radio y la televisión oficiales.
Una página de internet creada para que se le levante la censura sumó más de 800 firmas en apenas 48 horas.
