Employment must require at least two years of training , according to the standards set by the Department of Labor of the United States.
Island residents have benefited from the program since 1990. The previous lottery results , which concluded in November 2012 , were announced last May.
Annually the average Cuban participants reached 20,000 to 23,000 tickets, which can be completed by relatives from abroad .
The Cuban share growth was 43 percent in 2012 and it is expected that this time there is a significant rise considering the facilities to access the Internet that have opened throughout the country , with 121 rooms navigation and more than 100,000 users in the first three months of operation.
MORE INTERNATIONAL NAVIGATION

ABRE MAÑANA LOTERIA DE VISAS DE EEUU PARA EL 2014.
El sorteo para el Programa de Visas por Diversidad (DV-2015) de Estados Unidos comenzará este martes 1ro de octubre y se extenderá hasta el sábado 2 de noviembre, anunció el Departamento de Estado.
Los aspirantes a obtener un cupo en la llamada Lotería de Visas la podrán inscribirse desde el mediodía del martes -12 p.m, hora del este de Estados Unidos (hora de Cuba también)- y el mediodía del sábado 3 de noviembre, en el sitio de internet www.dvlottery.state.gov
Las solicitudes del programa se realizan únicamente por vía electrónica desde el 2005, sin costo alguno. No se aceptarán planillas con datos incompletos.
“Ninguna solicitud será aceptada fuera de fecha o en papel. Los reglamentos permiten solo una entrada o aplicación por candidato durante el período de registración. El Departamento de Estado utiliza una sofisticada tecnología para detectar solicitudes múltiples hechas por la misma persona. Si usted envía más de una solicitud con su nombre será descalificado para el sorteo”, advierte la convocatoria.
NO ESPERAR AL FINAL
Se recomienda a los participantes no esperar hasta la última semana de inscripción debido a que la gran demanda puede ocasionar demoras en el sitio digital en los días finales.
A partir del 1ro. de mayo del 2014, los participantes podrán conocer si fueron escogidos entrando su número de confirmación personal en el sitio digital de la Lotería de Visas, en la sección Entrant Status Check.
El lanzamiento de la Lotería de Visas de Estados Unidos coincide con el inicio del año fiscal 2014, que comienza este martes.
Bajo el Programa de Visas por Diversidad (DV), Estados Unidos ofrece cada año unas 50,000 visas para aspirantes de países cuya tasa de inmigración es relativamente baja, entre ellos Cuba. La entrada de inmigrantes cubanos a territorio estadounidense, por vías legales e ilegales, promedia anualmente unas 30 mil personas.
Este año no podrán participar en el sorteo los nativos de Bangladesh, Brasil, Canadá, China, Colombia,República Dominicana, Ecuador,El Salvador, Haití, India, Jamaica, México, Nigeria, Pakistán, Perú, Filipinas, Corea del Sur, Reino Unido (exceptuando a Irlanda del Norte) y Vietnam.
REQUISITOS INDISPENSABLES
Además de la exigencia de la elegibilidad nacional, los participantes deberán cumplir el requisito de nivel educacional de duodécimo grado (bachillerato) o el equivalente en su país de origen, o contar con dos años de experiencia laboral durante los últimos cinco años. El empleo debe requerir al menos dos años de entrenamiento, de acuerdo con los estándares establecidos por el Departamento de Trabajo de Estados Unidos.
Los residentes de la isla se han beneficiado del programa desde 1990. Los resultados de la lotería anterior, que concluyó en noviembre del 2012, fueron anunciados el pasado mayo.
Anualmente el promedio de participantes cubanos alcanza entre 20,000 y 23,000 entradas, que pueden ser completadas por familiares desde el extranjero.
El crecimiento de la participación cubana fue de un 43 por ciento en el 2012 y se espera que en esta ocasión se produzca un alza notable, considerando las facilidades para acceso a la internet que se han abierto a lo largo del país, con 121 salas de navegación y más de 100,000 usuarios en los primeros tres meses de funcionamiento.
MAS NAVEGACION INTERNACIONAL
A pesar de que los precios de conexión son elevados, entre 0,60 y 4,50 CUC, ha habido una afluencia masiva a las salas, y más del 60 por ciento de los usuarios solicita el acceso de navegación internacional.
Incluso, recientemente se han hecho peticiones de la población para extender los horarios de funcionamiento de las salas hasdta la medianoche.
Alrededor de 20 millones de solicitudes se reciben anualmente en el Centro Consular de Kentucky del Departamento de Estado (KCC), encargado de procesar a los ganadores.
Las autoridades estadounidenses advierten que el Centro Consular de Kentucky del Departamento de Estado (KCC) no envía correos electrónicos a los ganadores del sorteo en el programa DV, sino que la notificación con las instrucciones correspondientes se hace por escrito.
Por lo tanto, los participantes en el sorteo no se debe enviar dinero a ninguna dirección, bajo ninguna circunstancia, para participar en el programa.
